The LOI is a separate contract. If they sign the LOI in December, another LOI school cannot give them a scholarship (for that year) unless the first school releases them.

Why do they wanna play for deion? It’s not that i dislike the guy. In fact when I was a kid and he was playing for the braves, my sister brought home this bright orange cat, and we named him “deion sanders.” It’s just that, well, he’s not a real coach? Somehow he convinced some talented kids to go to an fcs school and racked up some wins, yes, but these kids really think they’re gonna get better with him? That he’s gonna improve their draft stock? Is it that the spotlight is gonna follow him around and so NIL money is gonna find the kids on his team? In Colorado? I’m calling the peak selling ALL my coach prima donna stock right now.

I thumbsed you up, but I have mixed feelings. I don't know how he'll do when his talent isn't triple that of his competition. But I don't know why you'd say he's not a real coach. The dude's a real POS and I wouldn't want his influence around my kids, but he's as much of a coach as anyone. He knows football. He was a great football player who now has an excellent record as a head coach. In today's world of $$$$, instant gratification, and hogging the limelight, there aren't many who can capitalize on that more. He's not a traditional coach, but I think that's why he has a decent chance at being successful.
I mean, when's the last time anyone has even thought about the Colorado program? Now they're front-page on every sports section. The glamour will eventually wear off, but in the meantime, kids are going to take notice of that. He's going to try to turn Colorado football into a spectacle, and in a world where TikTok and Twitch take up 99% of kids' lives, that kind of instant fame and notoriety is going to sway some major stars to come join him.

Struggled with how to qualify what i think he is . . . But i think you nailed it. It’s about tik tok views and the like. Sure, he was a great player, but that had more to do with his being one of the most phenomenally gifted athletes of our lifetime than anything else.
My meaning is that if kids think tik tok and commercials are going to translate into success in football, they’re going to be disappointed. He’s gonna have a lot harder time winning at colorado where opponents will have D1 talent. Jimbo is showing us that caving to kids’ sense of entitlement and racking up superstar recruits won’t get it done.

It takes a great mind, great organization skills, a great personality, great etc. to be a great coach. Maybe Dion has those skills, but I'd not bet on it. A kid going there is taking a chance. We all will find out shortly how this works out. I'd bet he is mediocre, at best, but time will tell. He certainly has the "star power' with impressionable kids. Can he get them to "the next level", as they say? we'll see.

What makes him not a real coach? Want he just the head coach at JSU? Is it based off experience? He spent 3 seasons at a lower level program and succeeded. Is Jeff Saturday a real coach? Is Trent Dilfer a real coach?

If you expected Deion to have character, you have never heard of him. He cheats on women, attacks people who disagree with him (people forget why he was fired at that high school), and is just a generally bad person. But to be fair, he's bringing at least 10 of his guys with him.

The "ONLY" thing the NCAA does anymore, is figure the very best ways they can come up with to destroy FB at the college level. I think they feel that not to long from now, colleges are going to find another way to govern college FB and kick them to the curve and they intend on destroying before they do. Then they will try to put together a simi pro FB league that they can govern....

I agree! I have said Deion is not a coach he is a "Brand". His name sells to recruits! He will find out its harder to win at the FBS level, especially in a Power 5 conference.

Peter Woods is locked in 100%. If he wanted to leave Clemson he could have a long time ago. If he decommitted it would not be for Deion, it would be for Alabama and he isnt doing that. I do not blame Deion. If all Deion did was contact him to find out how committed he was, then there is nothing wrong. Employers do it all the time. He is trying to build a program.

Our coach has taken quite a bit of criticism in the past few weeks, some of it warranted, some maybe not, but if I were a football player with your skills, I'd rather play for Coach Dabo Swinney, a hundred times more over than Sanders. All that stuff Deon is spouting may, (or may not), make you an NFL man, but it won't necessarily make you a better man.

People should understand that in 2022, Head Coaches are the CEO of that team. It's their job to hire the best assistants and be a face for the program. There isn't a coach in CFB that can win consistently without a great staff. If Deion can make some good hires he has a legitimate chance to succeed imo. Colorado has struggled for decades butbits a beautiful campus with a pretty loyal fanbase. The PAC-12 has been down so it won't be as tough to grab 7-8 wins as it would in another conference. I don't see this posing any problems for Clemson in recruiting or otherwise, especially being across the country. Go Tigers!!!!

I don’t like his personality either, but he is perfect for this me-first era of CFB.
I doubt he plans to be at Colorado more than two years and is just looking to parlay this into the FSU job or a SEC gig. He will bring in as many mercenaries as possible to help him and his son, then bounce at the next best opportunity. At least he’s somewhat upfront about that, but I expect anyone he brings in will have the same mindset.
Obviously there is nowhere to go but up for Colorado, so a smart decision in that sense, but can you really build and maintain an entire roster off of NLE focused players? They’ll never be able to fight the real big boys in the center of the ring on money. If players have a breakout season, they’ll just look to see where they can go to get more.
