and even the runner from second scored as the 3rd baseman charged to field the bunt leaving no one to cover third . . . after the wide turn our guy realized they were too far from the plate and he could beat them there also . . . Absolutely a brilliant show of base running!!!

Our relief pitchers did a wonderful job tonight, as we still don’t have a starting pitcher with a WIN for their efforts . . . just a little Tim Bourret-like factoid for you . . . 😎

College baseball win tracker is weird. Austin Gordon should have got the win game 1 against South Carolina. He pitched 4 innings and didn’t allow a run. We had the lead and held it with no tie after he exited. They still gave the win to a pitcher who only pitched 2 innings.

but doesn’t the starting pitcher have to complete 5 innings to get credited with the win???

That is correct. Have to pitch 5 innings to get the win. For games less than 8 innings (i.e.softball or games called early) you have to pitch 4 innings.

It's a win. How many times under Mone did we lose these games because we couldn't score at all. Bakich is teaching them to play hard and play aggressive. I love it. In baseball if you can force tbe other team to make a defensive play by pushing the issue, they will screw it up more times than not. Same strategy is used from 10u through high school. He understands the game and will build a big time winner at Clemson. Just get yourself some tickets and get ready!! Bakich is Clemson's next long time legendary coach.
