In 2018, we played something like 8 undefeated teams and defeated them all, the last being 'Bama. We have beaten two undefeated teams so far (GT (first game), and Furman). We potentially will have 3 more undefeated teams ahead of us. It is a great feeling to hang the first defeat on someone. We will have that chance against Wake. We will probably have it against NCSU, and maybe against FSU.

And, IMO, defeating previously unbeaten teams says something positive. Beating teams that everybody else beats is not that much to brag about. That's why beating sc isn't much of a prize. Kind of like stealing candy from a baby. The candy tastes good, but nothing to brag about.

The 2016 team had been in the Natty in 2015 and had the lead in the 4th quarter and had a sense of unfinished business, much like the 2018 team. This team doesn’t have that foundation to build off of. Doesn’t mean they can’t get better each week and maybe even run the table in the regular season. The ceiling is probably not as high.
