They should let William DeVane and William Perry vote. They gave out a Rimington award of their own during the Orange bowl in 1982, alternating every other defensive snap and getting the better of the matchup.

Never forget '81 Championship Week, Clemson an Nebraska teams went to Jai alia in Ft. Lauderdale one night. Dave Remington was there all American center. I was with fraternity brothers from Miami, couple of the worked for the Orange Bowl, one of their fathers was on the OB Committe, as a result we knew all the teams activities. Never forget watching William Perry (true freshman) an Steve Durham sit right behind Remington and start telling him how the were going to kick his butt! Our frat brother had his older brother sitting with Remington and some of the Nebraska players, he said you wouldn't believe the crappy Perry and Durham gave Remington!!! We whip em that night and put Clemson on the map! Great memory, Go Tigers!!!
