I think they all know what's coming next yr***

Weird thing is Kevin Keatts is on the hotseat too...

Apr 16, 2022, 11:48 AM

For NC State..maybe he was forced out... this is crazy...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Kevin Keatts should be a hotter seat than Brad’s

Apr 16, 2022, 1:00 PM

Given the expectations.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Keatts is on a much hotter seat than Brownell.

Apr 16, 2022, 3:36 PM [ in reply to I think they all know what's coming next yr*** ]

So it doesn’t make sense at all from that perspective.

One or two reasons are most likely:

1. We are actually going to pay our assistants a competitive ACC salary now, since Neff cares about basketball, and Brad encouraged him to leave because we are upgrading our staff.

2. NC State offered him a raise and we didn’t match it.

"Everybody needs to know that Coach Brownell is arguably the best coach to come through Clemson." -PJ Hall

Wrong. The seats are equally as hot.

Apr 16, 2022, 5:35 PM

It's next year or done for both, period.

One has coached 12 years at his current school and has a 0.568 winning percentage. The other has coached 5 years at his current school and has a 0.570 winning percentage.

It's next or bust, for both. No difference.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

And too, can you provide the data on the pay raises

Apr 16, 2022, 5:37 PM [ in reply to Keatts is on a much hotter seat than Brownell. ]

these last assistants received, since you say it was all about the money.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Another one...

Apr 16, 2022, 11:45 AM

Nothing like looking for job security when your head coach is on the hotseat...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

These could be things that were discussed when

Apr 16, 2022, 11:53 AM

CBB met with Neff at the end of the season. Nevertheless, Clemson basketball is going to change next year. Either the program will elevate or Clemson will go in a new direction. The writing is clearly on the wall.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Dean was our best recruiter, doubt he was asked to leave

Apr 16, 2022, 11:57 AM

Richardson was active in recruiting as well. Parallel moves are not a good look. No way these two were told to find other jobs and #### Bender stays

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Dean was our best recruiter, doubt he was asked to leave

Apr 16, 2022, 12:04 PM

Dean was the biggest loss for sure!

Re: Dean was our best recruiter, doubt he was asked to leave

Apr 16, 2022, 12:07 PM [ in reply to Dean was our best recruiter, doubt he was asked to leave ]

Which then goes back to the writing on the wall and the two of them jumping ship before it sinks. It’s clear that next year will be a make or break year for the basketball team. Changes are coming in one form or another. Either CBB elevates the program or Clemson moves in a new direction at the head coach position. It is pretty clear.

Tell the Judge NC State fans not impressed with their new assistant. See link:

Do you consider yourself a good fan?

Apr 16, 2022, 1:30 PM

I mean all you do is complain.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Do you consider yourself a good fan?

Apr 16, 2022, 2:07 PM

Stating that the writing is on the wall and that changes will happen one way or the other is complaining? ??. Okay.

I guess, under your thought process, that “good fans” should not expect the best out of all the athletic programs? Got it.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Since you expect the best, I’m guessing you are all for our administration

Apr 16, 2022, 3:39 PM

spending more on basketball to make us more competitive with high quality assistant coaches?

"Everybody needs to know that Coach Brownell is arguably the best coach to come through Clemson." -PJ Hall

Yes absolutely I would pay more for petter coaches.

Apr 16, 2022, 3:46 PM

Which is different from saying if we pay our current coaches more they would coach better.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If that’s what it ultimately takes, then absolutely.

Apr 16, 2022, 3:51 PM [ in reply to Since you expect the best, I’m guessing you are all for our administration ]

But that said, if the admin raises those stakes, then it shouldn’t take 10 years to get a better product.

Judge, I’ve not lashed out against you like the others. I really would like to see CBB succeed. But at some point we have to quit coming up with excuses and start making priorities. If we keep doing what we’ve been doing, we’re going to keep getting the same results.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

So we didn't/don't have good assistants, or we

had/have good assistants?

Which is it??

I think you may be confused sir.***

Apr 16, 2022, 12:50 PM [ in reply to Re: Dean was our best recruiter, doubt he was asked to leave ]

He's had 11 coaching jobs since 1997 (24 seasons) and two of the 11 jobs accounted for 10 of those 24 years. I don't have any clue why nor is it my concern but just interesting?

2024 white level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Notice how we never hire assistants from power 5 schools.

Apr 16, 2022, 3:37 PM [ in reply to Dean was our best recruiter, doubt he was asked to leave ]

Hopefully that will change with Neff here.

Exactly, but there are still some that are struggling with the facts or just can’t handle them one!

Judge, can you tell us what is going on with the BB staff since you seem to know so much about the program?

Just another example of Brown L's transfer portal magic at work.

All he does is win win win, no matter what what what.

Nah, JK is busy looking for assistants

Apr 16, 2022, 1:14 PM [ in reply to Re: TNET: Reports: Clemson assistant leaving for another ACC assistant job ]

Who want to relocate for one season. Maybe he should call some guys who work at Furman

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Things that make you go - hummmmmm mm

Apr 16, 2022, 1:52 PM

Brad - in his 45 minute - lack of details about he was going to finally turn the program around - said the other assistant left - but not for money. Said it equal.
1. If not money - then - why?
2. I guess it kills one of the “talking points” of why BB was not successful. Assistants Pay.

Now, another one. Pay? Doubt it but maybe.

I guess the assistants did not realize how impressive having the 7th most wins in the ACC over the past 5 years and finishing 10th this past year - really is.

Re: Things that make you go - hummmmmm mm

Apr 16, 2022, 2:58 PM

It’s gotta be facilities then. That’s the only explanation for why Brad hasn’t done better than mediocre. There can’t possibly be another, maybe even more obvious, explanation. It’s such an enigma.

Re: TNET: Reports: Clemson assistant leaving for another ACC assistant job

Apr 16, 2022, 5:21 PM

So I guess throwing more money at the problem doesn't cut it. Maybe just maybe they don't like the person or people they're working for.
But on the positive side, maybe this opens the door to spend more money on better coaches. This and a new dining room should fix the basketball problems. Maybe add another practice court or so.

We will know a lot more when we find out who the replacements will be. I do not see this as a bad thing. We need some changes.
