Really, they are useless with bored judges sitting around somewhere that decides to come in and change the rules, and accuse the NCAA of over stepping their bounds. The courts will make up the rules that takes amateur sports out of the college, and turn college sports into Simi pro sports for now, and another change will come later to make all college sports into pro sports, with the colleges being responsible for full athletic scholarships with every sport that a college wants sponsor, and it will be run as a college pro sport!!!

Judges don't do anything without being asked for relief (in this case, by players).
Conservative and Liberal judges alike unanimously declared that a bunch of schools can't collude to not pay their labor.
The idea that college sports are "amateur" is a joke. EVERYONE is making money except for the players on the field.

Emmert has presided over the total destruction of college sports as we’ve known it 75+ years.

Overdue! Maybe some with balls will take over?? I'm good with Condoleeza Rice. She had great takes on college sports, plus I think the idiot Congress would listen to her solutions.

Will probably get an SEC homer to take over and go ahead and finish the demise of what we once knew as college football.

Good riddance!!! He is a sorry piece of crap who failed to take any steps that could have prevented the upcoming catastrophe that is going to damage college athletics. He selfishly only thought lining the pockets of himself, and a select group of others, instead of having some integrity to do what is best for the overall well being of the sport of college athletics.

Two bungling behind-the-times bureaucrats lacking vision who really cashed in on the status quo and left their respective organizations in far worse financial and organizational shape than what they inherited. It's debatable who did the most damage.

They need someone forceful for this position, I hear there are several likely choices in the White House.

NIL came from a litany of whiny minorities on the west coast who weren't good enough to make it into the NBA....so they whined about not being able to use their "NIL" to make money.....which was against NCAA rules from the start.
The NCAA absolutely has sway over NIL - they just don't have the balls to enforce it.
See attachment.
Like most everything, the political-left f**ks up everything they touch.

To all the folks complaining about him and NIL, etc... he actually tried to keep NIL and the like from happening. The courts decided (or forced) the issue. So although he may have been ineffective in terms of staving off the inevitable, in actuality he was trying to preserve the old status quo.
