Already posted maybe a 100 posts since I can't contain my enthusiasm... When CLP announced his retirement, it was inconceivable he would become the greatest coach ever. And to do it against a star studded SEC tournament in Alabama is beyond belief. A dream sendoff to close the regular season.

I would like very much to know when the team arrives back in. It would be nice to welcome them back. The G O A T!!!!!

Can't say enough for all our Tiger golfers but as many of you know, I'm a huge fan of Zack. As a "bench" player, he literally won the tournament for us. You generally don't expect your bench player to count all 3 rounds. In time, he just may be our greatest PGA Tiger... And we've had a bunch.

You're right Horry. He's done it the right way. People on here talk about bball being the red headed step child. Clemson has succeeded in golf (until recently) in spite of the University not giving a #### about it. When I was at Clemson in the 70's the home course was a frapping cow pasture.

Golf is imho the hardest college championship to win. So many parameters. Look at golf through history, only a handful of golfers have won even 5 PGA tournaments.

It takes a Tiger Woods, or in Bama's back to back (only 2 they've won) they had Justin Thomas. It's not something you can recruit brut strength, or a 7 foot Lou alcender... Not only do you have to have great golfers, said golfer has to get on a hot streak at the exact moment.

Yes, I am biased and very passionate about Clemson golf. I've lived Clemson for 70 years and my beloved state of South Carolina 70 years. Coach is the winningest coach in the ACC with local home grown talent. That means a lot to me and makes it more personal.

Most colleges for the last 2 decades+ have been recruiting worldwide talent. Golfers that come to your school, give you 2 years and then punch their ticket. Not really that vested.

Mike Martin (FSU baseball) no natty but just like Coach Penley, you ask any player or any peer whom they respect in their profession, you'll get certain names.

Dabo's been fortunate to give us two championships, but when he's asked, you'll never hear him say that's his goal. Thanks CLP, you are The G O A T.
