This is the new normal with all the coaching changes at end of season. Its only natural to break commitments if going to the school for certain coaches. Can't be on a BV defense at Clemson once left to OU. So I think a lot of the back out of commitment not really against the college just mainly coaching situation.

.... spoken like someone who's never been there. Lived there 4 years. Married my awesome wife there. Got baptized there. Made incredible memories in OKC, Norman and Edmond. Still have incredible friends and family there. LOVE that place. Sooners are our second fav team, and OKC is our second favorite city. Always will be. Having Brent there made it even easier to pull for them. Go Tigers! Go Sooners! Viva la OKC!

I agree nothing. New Coach great on defense hope we does well as HC. But most aren't at all levels. BV truly has up mountain climb since soon move to SEC where 11-1 regular season soon to be 6-6 regular seasons at least for first few seasons then probably move to top tier of the division.

I think he made right decision since probably after first season at Clemson no playing would have him jump to transfer portal. The days of learning freshman and sophomore season to start junior and senior season is over. Dabo gets another 5 stars of his picks for OC and DC. If Texan freshman starts next season Tigers get another Natty. When Ford's teams weren't super good Soccer team got their 3 Nattys

I had serious reservations about this player and his abilities. I would say this decommitment is the equivalent of signing a 4.5 player unexpectedly. I will be celebrating this news with other close friends who are also big time Clemson supporters.

Actually a lot of the schools and media tell regular people about them being studs. Lots of time stud in high school doesn't make you stud in college. 2 past Heisman QB sucked at OSU and TAMU but won Heisman at LSU and OU.

Brents reeling them in. He's got a offer to that DL 5* that decommited from Oregon. I haven't heard whether we offered or not. Surely at least one of all these that decommited from other schools because of coach changes have interest in Clemson and vice versa.

This poor kid committed to Clemson for the wrong reasons. If he committed solely to play for Venables and will follow him everywhere he goes is not a smart decision IMO. Venables has never been a head coach and won’t even be his position coach (Venables won’t be coaching the linebackers, Ted Roof will). Who knows how Brent will coach this kid. If Venables has to spend more time directly coaching this kid to prevent him from transferring then that is time away from his other head coach duties. We want players that are ALL IN on Clemson and not someone that is ALL IN on one coach. We are better off as this kid would have transferred out the first chance since his head isn’t in the right place with Clemson. Bye.

Dude, players are almost always committing to the coach not the school. Otherwise we’d never talk about who is a good recruiter and schools would always have the same level of recruits every year regardless of coach

It’s really frustrating when these last few kids say all these things about committing to a school, it’s culture, and other lip service they spew and then not keep there word. Guess I’d rather have them not come on campus then cause issues and have an Belk situation. Don’t let the door hit you where the good Lord split you.

This stuff hurts the school. They invested time, resources, and then stopped recruiting other kids. If the head coach left, then ok, maybe i see it being more feasible, but if it was just a coordinator leaving then its kinda lame.
They really are putting Clemson in a rough spot roster wise.
