Cancer Sux!!! I'm a survivor!!!

Oct 13th, 2010 diagnosed with metastatic melanoma. Eventually 4 tumors in lungs and one in left kidney and adrenal gland. March 2012 i was given 6-9mos to live and was told that I needed to get my personal affairs in order since the Dr felt fairly certain of my timeline and a single adult home owner.
June 1st is my birthday. Almost 9yrs later I continue to beat the odds. In June, I will have gone without some type of chemo, radiation therapy and/or surgeries for 1yr for the first time since being diagnosed. After spending every bit of my retirement and savings trying to beat the terrible "C" word and now living paycheck to paycheck in my 40's, I my friends am living proof you can beat the odds when they are stacked against you.
I pray for everyone that steps into those shoes that they have the resolve and blessings that I have been given. You must pray for the families as it's a life changing diagnosis!!
I pray that her Son has a good support structure as no 7yr old boy should be without a parent!

person, coach and representative of Clemson. Prayers go out to her family. Cancer does suck. I have a co-worker that is battling for her life, I lost my mother-in-law to cancer and I think most of us have been touched by this horrible illness. I pray that researchers can find a cure to wipe it out someday soon.
