1st ever soccer games I ever watched in my life had Coach Adair on the sidelines

'05, had an Indian roommate who'd go to FB games w/ me & I'd go to soccer & VB games w/ him. Saw the 2OT win over SC & the NCAA QF win over Creighton that year.

2020 has been pretty consistent in the level of suckage.

Such sad news. Any word on what happened?

I wasn’t aware of him being sick.

"Everybody needs to know that Coach Brownell is arguably the best coach to come through Clemson." -PJ Hall

And he certainly wasn't very old. About 59 I believe.

Coach Adair was a generous and kind soul with a passion for soccer, Clemson, and life.

2020 Sucks

Going to really miss Coach Adair. He was my favorite coach to interact with when I was Director of Non-Revenue Sports for Central Spirit. Part of some of my favorite Clemson memories including him buying pizza for all of Central Spirit and the team. Wish I could have told him almost 20 years later how much that meant to me. Come quickly 2021... you've got to be better than 2020.

I really hate what happened to him at Clemson. From what I understand he was well liked and loved and I think we were all pretty happy with the results we were getting with him while he ran the program!

Children have never been easy to raise, but the world we’re living in today has made it extremely difficult to raise children, especially daughters, especially when they want to rebel and push their parents as hard as they can, which it looks like his daughter did. What he did was wrong, but we all snap sometimes and I’m sure he regretted it more than anyone the second it happened. I don’t think he should’ve been fired or forced to resign because of that. It was not a case of child abuse or sexual assault or domestic abuse, etc. etc. It was a moment of father feeling like he was losing control of his daughter who is doing everything she could to push his buttons and #### him off! Sadly he reacted the way he did, but it was a family matter not a criminal matter and a one time thing and it should not have costed him his job at Clemson.

But from a selfish perspective, Noonan took over and really built on the foundation that was already there and we are as good as ever right now. Ergo, I hate what happened, but we have benefited from it! I’m happy the program is back among the best in the nation, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I don’t have a little bit of mixed emotions about how we got here!

I was lucky enough to be at Clemson from 84 to 88 when we won our first two national championships! I was good friends with Bruce Murray and many of the guys on the soccer team and knew all of them! I got drunk at many a soccer party while at Clemson! LOL!

I remember sitting in Eric Eichmann’s room Drinking and talking for hours with him and Robin Wicker when they were dating and she was late 20s or maybe even 30 or 31 and employed by the University. It was kept on the down low, but if that were to happen today,OMG, People would lose their minds and it would be all over social media and she would probably lose her job!

The 80s were infinitely better than today! Socially and racially and in so many other ways! I would give a ######## to go back to the 80s if we could! And the music was #### sure a hell of a lot better!
