Had the opportunity to play against Robbie in high school ( my team beat pageland in the 1971 AAA state champ game. That opened the door to get to know him when he was hired at CU. We have become friends with Robbie, his lovely wife and daughter. #### fine coach, but a better man. Class guy.

Nelson Wallace, out of Pageland HS as well, was an outstanding player for Clemson in the early/mid 1970's.

Hey....I remember Nelson Wallace. He was a disruptive force! Quick as a cat!

it was my job to try and block nelson wallace in that state champ game. James "peanut" martin, who became a standout S at CU was our QB. there were a lot of 'look out peanut" blocks that night. wallace wasn't just quick.. he was SUDDEN. And i was, well, not very quick.

Congratulations to Coach Caldwell on a great career!

Not much chance of Bill Bedenbaugh coming in now that Venables is at OU, but I would have liked to poach him from their staff and was really hopeful when Riley bailed until the mafia showed up at the Venables lakehouse.
