Final MLB draft projections for Clemson signees

Is that for a 1 year deal? 3 years? I’ve always wondered how long a team will let a prospect like this linger in the minors before they decide to move on. It seems being a high pick like this they’d want some ROI fairly quickly.

I suppose that's only a signing bonus and then you get a contact. Would imagine the signing bonus is spread out. Just my opinion..

Would be nice to get a top baseball player/QB.

Maybe one or both would do a trade in Klondike bars?

I love how some on here say "no way they give up.." do you know the families financial situation? do you know them personally? I know if it were me in that situation.. at their age.. i would STILL lean toward going to Clemson. sure, I come from family money.. and personally i don't have a money making job now in my thirties but still do well. if it were me in that situation I'd turn it down and go to school.

Not everyone who goes to college as a athlete or in general is dirt poor or even cares about that.. or perhaps has the confidence that they know they will make money at some point.

"I love this place, I've got a spot already picked out where I want 'em to put me when I die - up there on that ole hill near the stadium. I want to be there so I can hear all them people cheering my Tigers on Saturdays; then I won't have to go Heaven; I'll already be there."- Frank Howard

$4.95 mil would be hard to walk away from…

That’s good money. Clemson will always be there if the MLB doesn’t workout. As a parent I’d have a hard time not setting my son up for life. A good financial advisor could make that kind of money last a life time.

To many scenarios where he doesn’t get that kind of offer again.

Well if it was me- I would turn down the money- I would rather my friends and family ask me for Clemson tickets- then some stranger claimed - he fell on my lawn and is now such an emotional mess- that he will needs professional help for the next thirty years- or my lawyer could just write him a check for $500,000 and I make do- I mean recover fully. But I mean nobody wants to sue me because I am broke as heck!
