The NFL throws out the decision by an independent arbitrator (former federal judge) and then kicks it up to a lackey final arbitrator of their choosing for a sham process (the decision has already been made, it just needs the lackey's signature) with no formal legal procedure/process. Of course the NFL is now saying in back channels that DW shouldn't play Friday, but provides no grounding in rule/process as to why that is the case. I would love for DW to sport a headband with "Goodell" written on it in sharpie just like Jim McMahon did back in the day when he held a general disdain for Pete Rozelle.

I think if he actually showed some contrition at any point and issued some kind of apology from the get go, a lot of this would have been avoided. And before the defenders come flying in to scream “but what if he’s innocent!!!!”, why in the world would he have accepted a 6 game suspension or settled ANY suits if this was truely, 100% a hit job. He’s come off almost as a sociopath during this whole thing, just completely clueless.

I am sure his lawyer wanted him to let him do the work. He had civil suits and had to worry about possible criminal charges. He also might have felt he did nothing wrong.

Watson has maintained his stance of being innocent publicly. Unless he has admitted privately to the NFL, I don't see where any "facts" are coming from. We know that there are plenty allegations . If the NFL is going to suspend him for a year or more, they should show their proof to the public or the courts. I'm thinking it may be the courts.

I think you have to go for the best reasonably expected result. It's obvious that the NFL wants to make a statement, innocent or not. Six games would have been that result if it hadn't been appealed. We'll have to see how the appeal goes.

just hang up his cleats, it’s pretty clear that he’s going to have to settle. And also take his lumps from the league.
Settling is not admitting guilt. Nor is accepting and serving a suspension.
It’s simply bowing to the pressure being brought to bear by the weight of public opinion, the Image polishing of the NFL.
It appears Deshaun realizes he’s fighting a losing battle trying to resist the powers lined up against him.

To be clear, you're talking about the sex acts allegations, & that case is CLOSED. He cannot do any prison time, & legally he's got nothing to worry about there ever again; even if a video somehow happened to surface, he made every woman sign an NDA so it would be inadmissible.
But what the NFL part is about is the things Deshaun said himself happened, not the parts he insist didn't, know what I mean? Things like using the NFL-branded NDA's, how he hired the therapists explicitly as an NFL ambassador, the massage habits, those kinds of things.
You can't go to jail for standing up and swearing in church, but the congregation may punish you for doing it often.

Rusty Hardin has been terrible for him, he’s not much different than Buzzbee, he wants to be the star. But I go back to, if he was 100% innocent why would you accept the 6 games and not fight it the same way he will/would a year long or indefinite suspension. It can’t be both ways. If he had come out and just been like, I have a problem and am seeking help, I have to think this is all over by now. He has not once shown contrition or any remorse, his interviews are so awkward and weird and smiling. I love DW4 as much or more than most, what he did for me as a fellow Clemson family member has brought me more joy than I ever imagined in my life, but dude has either received a bunch of bad advice or is a borderline sociopath.

I think the problem is he can't say that, at least not yet, as there is one final open case remaining. Once it's closed, it's all up to Deshaun. I have faith in him.
I also sincerely believe he WILL say something like that & come out on top of it & lead in a way nobody but Deshaun can do & it will still surprise us.
If not, if he stays quiet forever and never says or does anything about it after the final case closes, I'd be surprised.

According to two, not one, but two Grand Jury hearings, the plaintiff's could not show any evidence for the Grand Jury to hold DW4 on any criminal charges, none, and that's most likely bc there was a crime committed by DW4. If I've said it once, I've said it many times, and I have, this case against DW4 is nothing more than a scam to extort money from DW4 by a bunch of floozies that saw their chance to scam/extort many paychecks from a young rich black guy that wasn't very street smart/wise to tricks/games played by unethical women just waiting for the right victim to run their scam on to extort money from. They hit the jack pot with an unsuspecting very young, and a very rick black male/Jock as DW4 that never seen it coming bc his mom, and his aunt taught him to respect women period. DW4 was an excellent Target for the type of women that work in most of the massage parlors bc, most of them are hookers/strippers that pay taxes under the cover of a massage polar license.
Average male that is laying on a table naked being cover by only a small towel with a woman giving him a massage, you know that a large percentage of those men get sexually excited, and making comments hoping that it leads to sex. But there are a lot of you that believe DW4 is the only male that's ever done that to the women accusing him of wrong doing, and if that's what you believe, I say that's BS, bc most of them do make sexual suggestion to the same women that's now suing DW4, but those other men don't have the money that DW4 has, and that is the only reason That DW4 is being sued by that trash!!!

I pray that neither mine nor your sons ever have to go through a witch hunt like this. Say what you will about how we raise them right, but in this "me too" world we live in a WHOLE lot of fairly innocent shenanigans done since I was in middle school would have gotten a whole lot of us in handcuffs these days. Ever snuck a kiss? Smacked a gal on the backside? Whistled? Admittedly guilty of all those things in my youth. Today ALL of that will get you in hot water. Any allegations made by a woman is and will likely be believed, true or not. Don't believe me, read the news, it's everywhere.
The NFL has two main issues with this now. One, Goodell has been a hanging Judge since he got to town and wants to show women they are behind them so they will keep buying those 9 pink Giants jerseys every year in October. And two, the owners are BIG time mad because of the contract Deshaun got. This means they will all have to dig deeper on the next Mahommes, Allen or Burrow contract. There was a league sentiment of unhappiness among teams when that deal went down, now the league and their hanging judge will take a pound of flesh. I dunno, maybe DW4 REALLY is this guy that they want us to believe he is. Or, maybe he really did solicit some rub and tug gals who now are looking for paydays, a thought that most rational people tend to agree upon.

Man, in all sincerity, I WISH what Deshaun did was hire some rub-and-tug girls, though. It just sounds like that's not what he did, & in his own words while under oath.
I love Deshaun. I still think he'll come out on top of this, but he can't do that until the final open case is closed & he can FINALLY talk about it candidly & lead in his own way as he's always done before.

I have always thought it was interesting that there has never been any kind of comments from DW, his attorneys or anyone else with an interest in this case on the “ladies” involved in this matter. The first thing I did when I heard about this was go on line and see what the “massage parlor ladies” of Houston were like.. I saw all I needed to see!
When I was young man I worked a summer internship with the Forest Service in McClellanville (Hell Hole Swamp) and decided one evening I would ride up to Georgetown and check out “the famous brothel” that was there! Boy was I a fish out of water. That was the quickest I ever was asked to leave a bar! Glad DW didn’t get a chance to go there. With his money he would have been In Hog Heaven! As sweet youth. Anyone old enough to remember this very,very famous club.

I wish Deshaun had gone to brothels instead, or even just hired straight up prostitutes.
It's personal that I don't care what people consensually do behind closed doors & I would not think any less of Deshaun just banging whoever he wanted to all over town. I think Deshaun believed sleeping around was wrong, though, so he did something else & didn't go to places like these sketchy massage parlors, but instead got on Instagram & found cute therapists to hire as an NFL ambassador, & it ultimately backfired.

On one hand, it's pre-season, meaningless NFL football (every time I convince myself to get excited about preseason games, I get burned).
On the other hand, I want to see Deshaun if for nothing else than his elite-level QB ceiling.
On one hand, I don't want to hear Deshaun get booed in Jacksonville.
On the other hand, he'll likely not play Friday anyway, which means we're likely to hear something about it today.
