If a 12 seed makes the NCAA field without at least making the finals of the conference tournament, we will be able to hear the yelling from other states all the way to Clemson.

If nc state fails in Charlotte and gets left out…

That would mean the real national champions (Miss St) AND the pretend national champions (ncst) from last year would not even make the tournament this year. That’s crazy.

Is it just me, or does every year Clemson plays in the ACCT for as long as I can remember they are almost always in a situation the bracket has it to where they have to win every game to advance?
Jack Leggett's last year (I may be wrong)they got hot towards the end of the season and started the ACCT 2-0, but somehow Georgia Tech came into that game 1-1, meaning Clemson had to go 3-0 in the tournament pool to advance to the ACC championship, Georgia Tech won and Clemson missed a chance at the ACC Championship. Heck the tournament was so broken that teams were playing games after being eliminated from championship contention.
Clemson did literally go 4-0 when they won the ACC championship Monte's first year, I'm pretty sure it was the same situation they had to go undefeated or they would've not made it to the finals.
Not saying the system deliberately is targeting Clemson, but I think there is a major problem with a tournament field when a team can go into a tournament game 2-0 and the other 1-1 and the 1-1 team can literally knock them out of the a tournament. Baseball is a sport where most teams will lose a decent chunk of games, 1 loss should not define a championship.
I'd rather see an MLB style structure like the wild card game where you have 1 game against two lower seeded teams and then the winner advances to pool play.
The ACC baseball tournament is still the most broken tournament I've seen in sports lol, at least they aren't having it in the blue blood's back yard for the first time in like a decade.

The conference wants each team to play multiple games to get people to attend. The coaches, at least the ones not on the bubble and not vying for a national seed, do not give a crap about this tourney. They want to get home and get rested for the NCAA tourney. This is the awful compromise that was chosen.

The SEC tournament begins in single elimination, then switches to double elimination for a couple of games and then returns to single elimination for the championship game.
Why does everyone feel that is so much more simplified than "best record in pool play advances to semifinals to begin a single elimination bracket"?
Everyone always gets hung up on the regular season record being the tiebreaker, but I wish more small conferences would adopt that format to keep some of these terrible teams who get hot for a couple of days from stealing spots in regionals from actual good teams.
It never fails that the Sun Belt, CAA, Southern Conference or Big South will have a regular season champ who is a lock for regional tank some conference tournament games and lets a team with a sub-.500 season record get into a regional over quality teams from larger conferences.

Hopefully the sweep this weekend against Boston College is just what the Tigers needed to jump start them going into the ACC Tournament and also give them some really good momentum throughout the whole tournament

I like our pool. We beat GT three times in the regular season would have been hard to beat them a 4th. We play two teams we haven’t seen this season and same for them. I’m assuming pitchers are pitching short notice on both sides. I think we win one out of two if not both.

Hopefully so because every year there seems to be a conference championship where the favorite gets upset and affects the auto bids. I really can't imagine 11 teams from any conference getting in... Even with the rpi. 32 at large bids? 11 leaves only 21 split up between all the other teams.
As you said, take care of business and make it a moot point.

Though two wins is all that's needed for the put up. Anything less and it's wait til next year.
Go Tigers.

Sudden death playoff for our Tigers

It’ll be hard not to play tight with that kind of pressure. I guess we will see what this team can do against the best!

Hmmm, If I recall correctly this team snacks on pressure like it's candy. Does that seem familiar to you as well?
