When I think about some of the stupid chit some of these guys, the know it all's, ever go back and listen to what they've said and hear how really stupid it does sound. They are praising last year's FSU team that we beat last season at FSU with DJ as the QB, and it makes me wonder how in the H&11 can they possibly believe that FSU is going to come into DV with Clemson having a more experienced O Line, a better leader at QB that can actually hit what should be a healthy group of WRs, CK is also a QB that is at least 3 to 4 times faster on his feet than DJ could have ever been, and to top it all off, we will have the Broyles Award winning OC that has brought his offense to Clemson that will open the entire field ahead of our offense to use, and not just the Elliott/Streeter quick passes behind the line of scrimmage, or the 3 to 4 yards past the line of scrimmage.
IMO, the only way they can possibly say the things they're saying, is to look at what FSU should be this coming season and completely closing their eyes to the team that Clemson should be bring back this coming season. That is the only way they could believe a word of what they're saying bc if they had looked at what Clemson should be, there is no way in H&11 or high water they could they actually believe the total bull chit they are saying!!!
It saddens me that the college FB team that we Tiger fans love, but our team has always been disrespected when we've played top level FB with the teams that has always been known as top level FB teams, and they hate it that little ole Clemson has built a top level FB program that can play with the best of all those that has been known as the top level programs for years, and now they have one of little guys kicking their butts and they don't know how to deal with it other than hate us, and never admitting that little ole Clemson has become a part of the winningest FB programs!!!!

I honestly don't get the FSU hype as a top 5 team. As evidenced by the clips I posted earlier, DJ kept us from blowing FSU out of Doak. The last 2 games of the season FSU struggled to beat a bad Florida team and a below average Oklahoma team. Put em' top 15 for sure but top 5 is laughable.

Clemson will beat FSU this year. A reconning will come to all the sec promotional mouthpieces, and the dismissal of The Clemson Factor will be debunked, yet again, as usual with the haters and sec pundits. They wish it weren’t so, but it is. That is all.

Until we prove we have receivers that can beat the defenders, we will be doubted. We start out strong and heads will turn, but the FSU game is the ACC exam we have to pass.

And i'm basing this take off of the teams we've had in recent years that were championship contenders.
That offense still looks confused and will have alot to clean up and get it together fairly quickly before game 1. While i understand we didnt' have collins and randall, still.. thats not like saying we're getting Sammy and Nuk back. Those guys are still proving themselves and are not really scary for opposing defenses. I Do like our Running Backs in terms of carrying the load. Honestly Klubnick is still learning and doesn't have his feet set up under him yet. Wish he could have played more games last year to get those bugs out.
Defense, i guess we'll see. We had good players last year too and we missed alot of tackles and had alot of open running lanes in that defensive front. Somebody has to lead that DB crop. Mukuba is a good player but not sure he's that alpha, at least yet. I like our LBs but we need DL to be dominant to win CFP games.
I still think we need alot of maturation and its possible we can get there. Most teams will test our DB's b/c they did last year and had success. Namely those last two games. They just threw the ball up and our guys got beat ALOT. Alot of breakdowns in that backfield. Good news is we have the players to rectify but coaching has got to get these guys locked in this year. Should have a ton of tape to dissect from the end of last year.
IF FSU is going to take it they have a decent chance this year. Which is why they're calling them a top 5 team. If they beat us then they're contending for that spot. But if we win then we're flip flopping rankings.

I like being ranked outside the top 10 because it takes some of the pressure of the team.

We finished the last two seasons outside of the top ten, so I'm not sure why we would start this season within the top top. Call me crazy.

Except that everyone else we play isn't also ranked higher. We've complained that our SOS hurts because of the lack of challenge within the ACC. We also know that to make the playoffs, Clemson MUST win. If FSU is ranked higher than us, and we cannot beat them, we do not deserve to go to the playoffs. FINALLY! A challenger worth facing on the filed! Go Tigers, Spot the ball, puhleeze!

If we go with FSU to the SEC, it means more marketing money & a better rated schedule.
Regardless it helps our strength of schedule, but the main reason they are rated higher is if they beat LSU at the beginning of the season it doesn’t look so bad for the SEC.
We will handle our business, this only helps us in the long run unless it sways a recruit away from us but I don’t believe it will!
Tigers will prove their worth this season & return to the playoffs! Will it mean as much as it used to mean, I doubt that as many fans have started to lose some interest in College football.

Better said that they are insulating LSU from a loss and bolstering their resume with a win. Classic schedule circular logic we’ve seen for years from sec. Also, when lsu beats fsu, it’s a top ten win, but when we beat them a few weeks later it’s only a top 20 win…

This was my exact thought when I saw FSU that high.
You can give them a little bit of hype because they have a QB that is a proven winner coming back!
But, oh well! Thank goodness for FSU. I personally believe they will beat LSwho again! And then, we will play them and beat them as you said.

Just a few days ago, I read a post or tweet showing Tigers favored in every game including 3.5 - 6 points over FSU, ND and SCU. Lots of possibilities. I like Tigers to win out and arrive in playoffs undefeated if CK2 stays healthy.

The FSU thang is gonna go up like Elon's 40 second rocket. Big fanfare but then you gotta perform as expected.
Travis is a fabulous talent and they are capable, but I bet they lose the opener to LSU and they are just not beating Clemson in Death Valley this year.

I imagine that we could have a decent season however, this team just doesn’t look elite like the ones of the past. We’re just not recruiting the same quality of player that we used too like the Christian Wilkins, Deshaun Watsons, Trevor Lawrence’s. I think we look less attractive to kids and families these days

Peter Woods is better than Wilkins and Vic Burley is a beast as well. Our recruiting has been pretty much spot on in a year to year comparison. Injuries these last two years has been the biggest obstacle for Clemson. The amount of time missed by some of the most key players on this team over the past 2 years is staggering. No one has realized how blessed the teams from 2015-2020 have been concerning injuries. This has totally disrupted both the offense and the defense in all 6 losses over the last 2 years. If that bug will leave this team alone 2023 will prove to be a stellar year! The team is older and the team is talented. Injury free it will be in the National Championship game again! Go Tigers!
