Correct me if I'm wrong, but I only see three names we even remotely offered...Pickens, Burch, and Joyner. Seems most of these guys are a tier below our targets?

The coaches obviously value blocking more than pass catching at the tight end position right now. That is the only explanation I could come up with as to why Briningstool is still behind Ennis at 3rd on the depth chart. Ennis has a year in the books, so I guess is further along. I hope Jake learns to block in the system soon, he is going to be a good one, IF he hangs around.

Jake definitely has more upside than Sage. I am not sure that they "value" blocking more than receiving right now, but that the weaknesses along the O-line have dictated that we use tight ends more in that role currently. Short of the block/rub routes, it seems that when we try to get a tight end time to run a route, the blocking has broken down by the time they are into the route.
