"if that's your main goal" probably eliminates most of the people getting nil money. I'm glad Ship is using his platform to help others. Servanthood is a part of the culture that Dabo is teaching and a big reason such a small number of offers go out. There's a small number of players and their families that are interested in that type of culture

Ship is a different cat because that is not NIL is about. Credit to the young man and his ability and character.

TikTok should be banned in USA like Chiner does to fair media in their country

China actually blocks tiktok in their own country. Chinese students are allowed to watch 40 min per day of an educational form of tiktok, not the invasive, trash we expose our kids to.

Its still pay for play and nothing more. NFL players give to and do charitable work all the time and it is definitely about the money. Ship is an exception and a fine exception at that. Its a tool that is greed driven when it comes to recruiting, will be bad overall as it drives good players to specific markets.

If you're ever out in the population where there are a lot young people, I'm sure that you've noticed that the common respect from our young people isn't no where near on the same level as it was when we were growing up, and I believe it's bc parents just isn't instilling the same respect for their elders as our parents done with us, and I can say that is one of things that my mom done an excellent job with in raising my brothers, sisters, and myself.

Even today at 70 years old I do my very best at giving the older and the younger people every bit of respect I can unless they show me that they're not deserving of it, even then I try to put forth my best behavior as long as they will allow it. I definitely can't say that is what I see out in public with our youth today. And I totally believe that is the #1 reason we're witnessing or hearing about all the bad things going on in our society today, and it's bc of our society failing in the teachings of respect for one another while they were growing up and becoming young adults and giving respect to all deserving it, and at least trying to give respect to the ones not deserving it, but we try bc that is what we were taught by our parents....

They won't all be like this, but I'm glad we got one of the good ones that are.

Well, good luck with that. As long as we have kids switching schools or welching on school signings for better NIL deals the narrative will not change. I'm glad Shipley is a good charactered young man, but I think he's peeing in the ocean if he thinks that is going to change anything. The bottom line is NIL is bad for college football and will always be bad for college football.

He is quickly becoming a Clemson icon and he's only been here for 2 years.

There are good kids on every roster and Clemson certainly has more than their share. My guess is that most who receive NIL money will use that money for their own enjoyment. And that is ok too. It’s comforting for me to know that my team consists of young men who have a greater knowledge of society and are willing to contribute in such a way as to benefits those less fortunate than themselves. Isn’t this the kind of kid coach Swinney has always brought into the program? Unfortunately the actions of Shipley and others aren’t made public for the rest of the college football world to see. Perhaps that will change soon. You can’t hide this kind of charity for very long. Clemson is a special place and as a fan, and hopefully a supporter, you can feel comfort in knowing what kind of young person represents your own investment. Keep in mind that the coaching staff has a LOT to do with the kind of guy who runs out onto the playing field on game day. Their teams may not win every game but they are Clemson Men and that is a good thing. I’m glad I’m one and I try to present myself as such and I’m sure that you do as well. GO TIGERS.
