Clemson pitcher selected on MLB draft second day

Clemson redshirt sophomore left-hander Keyshawn Askew was selected 292nd overall in the 10th round of the MLB draft on Monday by the New York Mets. Because he was drafted doesn't mean he is going. It's not like the NFL draft.

I’m surprised he didn’t go a little higher. He’s a left hander with a good fastball and a funky delivery. He could make it as a relief pitcher.

Agree. But think if he stays and we go on a run, he figures to be a prominent role as a weekend starter... And more developed. Now, if he doesn't feel he's getting that development from see, then maybe is time to move on.
