Another 5 years or so and he'll be progressing just like CBB. I hope we don't wait too long to make this change. It's depressing to see this huge drop off.

Personally, I think we'll be better. We've had a couple of good (not great) recruiting classes. Monte hides behind scholly money and that's true for UVA, vandy etc but not true for most ACC teams. Ga Tech in the same boat as us. True, GA has a lot of instate talent, but so doEs SC. And we've recruited the state well.
Definitely not sold on Monte being a developer of talent and baseball perhaps more than other sports is a developmental game. It was disheartening to hear Neff say how much passion he had for the game and how he's been long charged with working with both baseball and basketball... Hence tells me he's had a good bit of input.
Just the mere fact of being picked 5th in your division, which translates to around 8-10th overall in the ACC. That is NOT Clemson baseball. Super regional appearance this year at a minimum. THE minimum or he's gone.

about the potential of this year’s squad . . .
you know . . . preseason . . . everyone thinks they have a winner . . . we’ll see how we react when we’re punched in the mouth early and have pull from deep within . . .
The potential is there . . . is the leadership? Not even excited, but we shall see soon enough.

If the coots can look at their football schedule every year and think they have a chance, Clemson can do it with baseball.

This isn't a matter of thinking your team is a winner. This is a matter of 13 coaches who should know your strengths and weaknesses think the Tiger team is a loser.

We have been predicted to finish better than we did the last few years and underachieved for the most part. Maybe this year the low positioning will motivate and result in overachievement.

He just had one of his best recruiting classes he's had, and there are some really good players in that class, and coaches aren't voting for what they haven't seen. They are basing their vote on what they saw play last season!!! I'm very hopeful this is Monte Lee's breakout season, and we're back to Omaha!!!

Me too. Long past time to cut them loose. All or nothing. As soon as it was announced Oklahoma and Texas were leaving imo was perfect timing for ACC to make the move. I vaguely remember someone saying it would cost too much... Or something like that.

College baseball recruiting is different than other sports because it’s about getting guys to commit that are really good but not top 5 rounds good (where they choose MLB Draft over College). Then…it’s about developing them into top 5 round draft picks. Clemson is struggling with both, developing and losing guys to the draft before they step foot on campus.

I hope the rabble rousers will refer to the pre-season rankings when they start yelling for Monte's head when we lose a few games. Be prepared for middle of the road and hope the hits will fall and we are better than that.
