Was very dark skinned. Still, 3 days later you could see the bruise. Last player I ever saw get paddled. A coach would be in jail today for that and probably should have been back then.

one of those "Boards of Education". She was about 4'10" tall, maybe 90 pounds with winter clothes on. She had a bunch of holes drilled in her board so that it had less wind resistance. I never saw her actually have to use it. She had what I call "force of personaity" if you know what I mean. NOBODY messed with Mrs. Leontine.

that my mom spanked me for it, (yes, kids, it happened, and I did not turn out to be an axe murderer) I knew automatically that I had another one coming when my dad came in from work in the evening. I guess it was their way of showing solidarity. :)

I remember reading that in National Geographic. They even use the term “shrimp on tha baaahbie” to refer to painting cinderblocks yellow if I recall correctly. They’re so quirky down undah.
