Five-star edge defender Jeremiah Alexander announced a commitment to Alabama over Clemson on Thursday. Alexander had previously been an Alabama commit before a decommitment last October, and at one point, he named Clemson as his leader after a visit in June. He received a Clemson offer in January. There’s a new poster on the boards that has the “in” when it comes to recruiting. The kids was a Tiger up until the 11th hour even after he took his visit to Bama. I have respect for Bama but with knowing the kid was a silent for 3 1/2 weeks and then suddenly changed his minds Monday afternoon makes it seem real sketchy.

Problem is that now it is within the rules. As long as no cash changes hands before he enrolls it is all legal. Our Tigers will have to do the same or get left behind after 2 or 3 years of NIL. They have broken amateurism!!

The fact he was silent for 3 weeks meant he was weighing his options. He’s an Alabama kid who committed to the best program in the country which is in state. As much as we don’t want to admit it Alabama is the bigger dog. I’m sure family and friends pulling on him to stay home also had an impact. It’s petty when every time we “lose” to Alabama that it’s because they did something shady.

Bama may be doing something underhanded, but if they are it will be quiet and nothing like dropping a bag on the family. Bama has too much to lose to mess around with that type of stuff, especially now that NIL is in.

Every year there are a few high-end targets we don’t hit on for one reason or another. Every year we have still been to the playoffs. 2 of them we won.
Why we try to assign cause is beyond me. We’ll get another quality player. This kid just showed us all exactly why kids play the game. They’re kids. He decided what’s best for him so whatever.

Yeah it reminds me of Flowe and Foreman. I’d much rather Clemson get a 4 or 3 ?? kid who loves Clemson and really wants to be there rather than a kid who just wants prime time tv slots and a trip to the playoffs. Trenton Simpson has more than worked out.

Maybe some shady stuff DID happen. NIL will obviously help a lot of schools. But it's not like he was an in-state kid who went to a Team that sucked, like say, rhymes with "Lurch ". This dude went to his Flagship school that is almost guaranteed to win at least one National title if not two while he is there. Dislike it if you want, but How many kids left Tuscaloosa under Saban without a ring? We will get ours and coach them up. It's what we do as well as anyone ever.

Don't care if he is a 5 -Star or a Rear Admiral. If he doesn't want to play for Clemson, then we don't need him. Sure, we want to recruit top quality athletes ( and we do),but IMO, we also want guys who are 100 % committed to the program.
Apparently he wasn't.
