This kid is 17 years old, and looks quick and big. He will grow and bulk up.
Could be a quality Safety, Nickel, or outside Linebacker.
Grady Jarrett was a Three Star that other big schools didn’t want. He whooped up on five stars ??.
Dabo is probably the best recruiting Head Coach in the Country. Dabo Knows!

Dabo's head coaching record at Clemson is 147-36, so I can see why you'd be unhappy with him as coach.

Is there a reason to think this guy is a diamond in the rough? ESPN NR Rivals 3* 24/7 #68 Safety.
We already have Sherrod Covil and Keon Sabb, both 4* safeties in the class. Why not offer Antonio Williams at WR. Surely, we could use a slot type 4* receiver more than a safety that will never see the field.

because corners, like OLinemen, have to become what you recruited them to be or they will cause undue stress on the rest of the unit.
Also, it is simpler to roll a corner to safety than to roll a safety out to a corner.

My guess is he's a safety and at 6'4 brings some serious size, but I can't help but notice he isn't a very physical tackler. Recruiting intangibles hoping to turn him into a physical safety?

He is probably valued as a Nickel (O'daniel/Simmons) type player would be my guess. He is already 6'3" and 205, could easily put on 20lbs and fill that nickel role. Simmons the 2* and O'daniel the 3* worked out pretty good for BV.

Thanks for giving a reason for why he might be undervalued and more importantly why he may be seen as something other than a safety. I still would rather us offer a prototypical slot guy, but it is a little more understandable for me now.

So we go after a 3 star safety, even though we have a high 4 star coming in. We need to use that scholarship and go after someone in the portal. We need Myles Brennan or a QB with experience now. I stand firm in my belief that DJ and Taisun will transfer at the end of the season and we will have a horrible QB situation next year. Oh well, he will probably never see the field besides mop up duty. Waste of a scholarship that will make our recruiting ranking plummet.

The thought process on the West Coast and much of the country is Dabo and Tony Elliott hurt not helped DJ's game (i.e. Trent Dilfer et al). Their pitch will be they can fix DJ for the NFL - and he can throw to his brother - a package deal.

I have a feeling and I could be wrong, but DJ may go back home to California. USC is getting a new coach and DJ was recruited heavily there.

So with DJ and TP returning plus Cade coming in, you think a QB good enough to help us will want to transfer in just to ride the pine? I hate to ask but are you new to college football?
I also know you are about to suggest that DJ or TP will transfer. Maybe so but we can’t recruit a QB until they actually transfer

I am not new to football but this transfer portal changes the game. If and I say if, DJ and Taisun leave; do you really believe Myles Brennan would come in to ride the pine? He would see that Cade is the only QB of threat and he would believe he could beat him. Question is are you new to football? Is the transfer portal new to you? I am not the only one who thinks DJ and Taisun will leave. Why would Taisun stay, UCONN has a new coach coming in and he is from there.

The way he plays it looks like he could put on about 15-20 lbs. and be a linebacker. He reminds me a little of Baylon Spector.

According to 24/7, we are sitting at 13 commits. I believe Dabo, seeing the injuries pile up and transfers to the "Port-O Let", will sign the maximum he can this year, so it's not that much of a stretch to offer this guy. Not sure if there are are an additional 12 4 and 5* available for this signing class.

I believe there are some offers still on the table to very high level recruits. Most notably def linemen, ETN, and a receiver, all 4 stars or higher. Point being is we may be in better shape than the current commitment list indicates.
