If he doesn't choose us over MI with a January visit, I will be surprised. Had they won the Natty, it might be different, but once again, Harbauh (sp) messed the bed on the "Big Stage", and it probably hurt with some recruits. Time will tell.

After visiting Michigan in January, if he doesn’t freeze to death I hope he picks Clemson.

Private schools in Texas have some good talent. He was obviously one of the best!
If he played for a 6A government school, he would probably been a 4 or 5 ?? Star.

Great addition to the class.

Yes, please let it be slushy, cold, and bitter, not that

Wait...wut?? ---> "In the Panthers' final three playoff games, Paul averaged 368.3 rushing yards and 5.3 touchdowns per game."

TAPPS Division 1

Jan 10, 2022, 10:11 AM

Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS). Not the Same as Cade's Division 6 Classification as far as level of competition. But he is nontheless a standout and worthy of consideration.

Have we looked at any of the OL on this team?

He would be a great addition to the RB room. With CJ being the RB Coach I hope it gives us a chance. Rare a RB with his stats has waited this long to announce.

GO TIGERS!!!!!!!

Star Rating off. Big twitchy with long house calls.

Jan 10, 2022, 9:35 AM

Unfortunately, we will have to compete with NIL money.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Not sure you know how ‘NIL money’ works!

Jan 10, 2022, 10:02 AM

This kid has to come in and make himself marketable for ‘NIL $$’. He’s no Klubnik. Now some places have generated a small cache for all players to get a little bit..,not a bad idea at all.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

First you MUST have a recognizable name, image or likeness.

Jan 10, 2022, 10:28 AM

NIL is completely dependent on these factors.

Dr. Pepper is not interested in a 3-star RB from a small private school buried somewhere in the vast talent rich Texas high school landscape.

He will have to earn his NIL money in college.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Looks like you looked up "NIL" in the dictionary...

Jan 10, 2022, 2:20 PM

and completely ignored what is actually happening in the real world, where booster organizations are establishing charity organizations to funnel pre-defined annual salaries to unnamed Olinemen for unspecified NIL obligations.

If a coach wants this kid, he need only let the boosters know to put a package together for him. The recognizability is hardly relevant.

That huge market in Pickens is what you're banking on?

Jan 10, 2022, 11:21 AM [ in reply to Not sure you know how ‘NIL money’ works! ]

Maybe he can do commercials for Pete's No. 6. Theres only so much NIL money our market can dole out. This is definitely a huge task that Dabo never asked for. It not about football anymore. Its about which schools can lure 18 years olds in with guaranteed cash. Its sad.

Remember the last time we lost our primary RB target and

Jan 10, 2022, 10:15 AM

we had to scramble for an under-the-radar fallback?

That fallback guy was Travis Etienne.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Remember the last time we lost our primary RB target and

Jan 10, 2022, 10:53 AM

Travis Etienne started his NIL scam based on where Trevor finished up. I'm kind of glad we didn't get him. There has been enough drama in the RB room for a while.

That said, the biggest problem we have is too many open scholarship slots and ONE of the reasons for that is that we don't offer to guys the coaches don't think they can win with. They think this kid is a winner.

I would take half of the 350 yards and five touchdowns per game and build him a statue.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Think you have it backwards, but point taken ...

Jan 10, 2022, 12:58 PM

Trevor is definitely riding Travis’ coat tails right now. ??

Pass catching and blocking

Film says good running back, any ideaon pass catching and blocking?

Re: TNET: Top Texas running back wants to find out what it's like to be a Clemson Tiger

Jan 10, 2022, 3:28 PM

His offers don't get any bigger so he must have good potential. Michigan State has not signed an RB this year so that would be my guess for him but maybe he has a connection with Cade.

Andrew Paul looks to be outstanding. I have no idea why he is 3 star. He is fast, elusive, powerful. Unless his competition was embalmed, he looks to have the makings of a star. If he comes to Clemson, we may have 2 in the backfield who are better than the ones we wanted. Klubnik is better than Simpson, and Paul looks to be better than young ETN. It would be ironic to miss on your two top choices and end up better than you had hoped to be.

Visiting Michigan in January, yikes... As someone who grew up down south, that first snowy winter may seem exciting bc its different, get to buy cool coats, etc, but after that the fun stops. You will hate it come the next winter, and hate them a little more each year.
