Just keep in mind BIG fella that Georgia sends an offer out to every high school player. Some probably don't even play football anymore. Same with SCar. Come be part of something special.

And, many of those offers mean nothing when the rubber meets the road. They offer many, and the withdraw a lot due to not having room on the roster, but by then other schools may have fulfilled their roster needs. He also needs to take a look at graduation rates for their athletes. It's not the priority at most of them that it is at Clemson. Lastly, and maybe most importantly, are the other coaches of the same character as Dabo and staff. The answer to that on is easy. NO WAY!!! That should make the decision a lot easier, but some just can't see it. They're loss.

This guy sounds mature beyond his years. Very intentional with his plan.

A “must get” for a lot of reasons!

Sounds like we have the inside track.

Yikes…., I missed something, because I thought Monroe had already “committed” to us. Hopefully that will become a reality.

Austin certainly sounds like a very mature high schooler with size. His list of interested schools, and the schools (like Notre Dame) he is interested in considering, suggest he is a high quality individual any university will be pleased to put in their locker room and on their playing field. Austin's take on all the coaching changes is interesting, further illustrating his thoughtfulness. Here's hoping Clemson is fortunate enough to be where he lands.

Dear agent k, allow me to clarify some aspects of the original post (OP) to you.

Thomas Austin is Clemson's new OL (Offensive Line) coach. Thomas Austin (who I'm guessing is in his mid / late 30's) replaced Robbie Caldwell as the "on field" offensive line coach. Robbie Caldwell is still with Clemson, but in an 'inside' / administrative type role.

The guy in the article who Clemson is recruiting as a OL prospect is Monroe Freeling. The young Mr. Freeling goes to high school in Mount Pleasant, SC ... which is a suburb of Charleston, SC.

Monroe Freeling is a prospect for the 2023 season; he will be a HS senior late summer (i.e., late August 2022), and will be coming to a college in either winter of 2023 or summer of 2023.

I hope this clarifies matters a bit more for you.

Welcome to TNet!

My daughter goes to school with this guy. From everything she has told me, this guys is mature beyond his years. She tells him every day she sees him to get to Tiger town.

Good for her!
Clemson should get these in State Players!
He seems like a good fit for Clemson too!

Smart, independent and likable. If Freeling can also block big-time at the college level, that skill set would have utility.

He is a must get recruit. We need studs on the O-line and we cannot afford to lose top players from our state. We have reached a point where we have a national recruiting footprint but losing an in state recruiting battle is bad for business. Losing out on Jaleel Skinner from Greer to Alabama has already hurt this perception. Time to lock down our state and continue recruiting whoever and wherever we want.

THE Jaleel Skinner who already decommitted from Alabama and committed to Miami? That’s one that I don’t think Clemson will miss especially after they seemed to cool on him quite a bit ago.
