This is actually nothing to laugh about bc, this means that Beamer has put a lot of time into covering up the flaws that coot U has lived a lifetime creating, and that isn't even funny IMHO!!! Somebody needs to show this kids family the actions of that fan base on gameday with the throwing of batteries, liquor bottles, and anything else that can harm another person, and explain how there's nothing family oriented about those types of actions. USUC is no more a family oriented school than Russia or Iran is to their average citizens. And if he feels that they are, that could only mean that Beamer and his coaches has their family oriented scam down to being about perfect!!!

Jan 26, 2023, 1:30 PM [ in reply to Re: TNET: Tigers battling Gamecocks for in-state lineman ]

Somebody is totally lying to this kid in chicken town. 1st of all, they're not an ENGINEERING school. 2nd, they are not a family oriented school, that is something else they are lying to recruits about to be competitive with Clemson as a family oriented school bc they hear recruits say on a daily basis how family oriented Clemson really is. They, starting with Beamer are making up lies to make themselves appear to be Clemson, but in Cootlumbia, and if recruits can't SEE through their fabricated LIES to appear the same as what Clemson has been for decades, then they will have ask for, and deserves their fate that they'll be stuck with after they get there and learn that they were scammed with Beamer lies and deceit to help save his job for a few more years.

Plus, if this kid can't see it for himself without someone having to convince him that usuc has never been a family oriented school, that just means he's never known what a family oriented atmosphere away from actually feels like, and if that's the case, and it seems that it is, then choosing the school with family oriented values is going to be a problem for this young man!!!

Maybe he should take both his parents with him to check out the total difference in both schools when seeking the truth of what a family oriented school is supposed to really feel like bc, there is a difference in faking it, and really living it!!!!

If coots are telling that, they need to be reported for false advertising and out and out lying. I find it hard to believe anybody heading to college would not know and understand that it was a gross misrepresentation of the facts. If academics really is an important consideration for this young man, he is wasting a lot of valuable time communicating with them.

Right on both points! I posted this last year, but what a great opportunity to post this AGAIN.....

December 1984 at the career fair at Gaffney (SC) High School.

I was raised a Carolina fan, and hated all things Clemson. At my high school career fair, I met with the Carolina folks and learned my SAT scores would easily get me into their engineering program. A buddy of mine was a Clemson fan and also interested in engineering, so I tagged alone with him while he spoke to the Clemson people.

The Clemson recruiter explained their engineering program admission requirements, which caused me to ask “Why are your requirements so much higher than Carolina’s requirements?” The recruiter smiled and said “I think you just answered your own question.”

Once it all sank in, I told my buddy “Well, it looks like I’m going to Clemson.”

are a few more this year that seem to be at a higher level but for the most part this states talent has been on the decline - might want to take a look at the OL we just signed- we’re doing quite alright. Also signed 4 of the top 25 players in GA this last class. That’s probably close to what UGA signed. We get our guys from all over - not going to sweat some guy being from SC. We’re going to get as good or better guys wherever we have to get them from to do it. And they’ll be the right guys too.

Our OL depth is a major weakness so we need to stack as much talent as possible. Losing two in-state top 100 players at premier positions to our instate rival is bad. The OL class for 24 is not looking bright

Clemson Alum...but don't live in SC...so from an 'outsider' it always baffles me that there's even a decision to be had here. Columbia and USuC are shitholes and seen as bottom of the barrel of an 'education'.

Seems to me the difference between a kid who would go to Clemson versus USuC is immense and really shouldn't even have overlap.

It's literally a night and day difference (if that's the most extreme example of a difference to be had) so the fact this kid is wavering tells me he's likely going to USuC. A true gentleman, a top notch character kid, and player, would've even hesitate with this decision.

And again, that's not Alum tinted glasses perspective, that's just pretty much how the entire country sees the two schools and differences.

Oh, and throw in if he goes to USuC he "may" sniff a mid tier bowl at some point...don't let last year's couple of gifts fool you, this is still a bottom barrel team, and school - and that's how the world outside of the state of SC see it.

Re: TNET: Tigers battling Gamecocks for in-state lineman

Feb 3, 2023, 5:11 PM

I've lived in 11 states, usually in metro areas like NYC, Chicago, Boston, MSP, and Atlanta. Rarely does anyone outside the southeast even know where Clemson is. We're a hidden gem. If we had better national name recognition, we'd be in the SEC by now, raking in all that TV money. The recent football success is helping, but our alumni usually stay in SC/NC/GA and the familiarity suffers. SC only has the top international b-school as it's claim to fame, but that is not enough to offset the low entrance requirements.

Re: TNET: Tigers battling Gamecocks for in-state lineman

Is that young man living in some alternate universe where what is up is down?

He literally describes traits he is looking for that embody Clemson University and Clemson football, yet says the coots are better in those areas:

> Values eduction - Clemson clearly better academically (educate yourself young man before you make a huge mistake)

> Wants to major in engineering - Clemson is an engineering school, coots, not so much.

> Wants a family oriented environment - Clemson and Clemson football cherish and defend our family environment. Coots get it on behind dumpsters in the stadium parking lot, play with boyfriends peeners in the stands, large segments of the fan base flip the bird at opponents in mass middle-finger display, student section hurls objects a Tigers in attempt to hit / hurt them . . .

> Wants teammates that are good people - there is absolutely no way coot football team has more good people than the Tigers. Dabo's program specifically screens potential recruits to try to weed out any bad apples. I don't know what the coots do in this regard, but they are in SEC where the MO seems to be that athletic prowess trumps character.

> Prefers the coots staff because they fun to be around. Beamer doesn't look that fun to be around when he's displaying his histrionics frequently on the sidelines.

The only way this makes sense if it is part of a ruse to through fans off the track. If he really believes the coots are superior to Clemson in these areas, I sincerely hope he learns the truth before he makes a huge mistake.

Re: TNET: Tigers battling Gamecocks for in-state lineman

Jan 27, 2023, 7:42 AM

Not sure how he came to some of those conclusions other than he is already very biased which has clouded the decision making process. The fact that he is interested in engineering implies he has some smarts, not many football players pursue those type of degrees. Unfortunately our loss to USC was bound to have consequences and this is just one and there maybe more to come. It's tough to argue that our loss to them didn't give them a boost. I still want to vomit...

This seems like a fine young man and I wish him the best. However, after reading his 'perplexing' perspective from comparing the two state football programs, I do think he would NOT be a fit for Clemson and I predict he will go to the Coots where he is probably better suited.
