Seems like we have heard this one before just with Caldwell.

Yep it’s the spring BS session

Everyone looks great and is ready to take on Bama. It’s just rah rah to pass the time.

So why did you read it if it’s all BS? Just leave and come back in the fall when we’re winning and claim you knew we’d do well all along.

Exactly. At the same time, what do you expect them to say? D.j. is set to hit the transfer portal because he sees the writing on the wall. Or the OL is going to be as suspect as last year. How about this? The new coaching hierarchy is unstable and the in-fighting is beyond unbelievable. Or, the Clemson AD is contemplating shutting down the football program due to lack of talent and skeptics on T-Net approve whole-heartedly!!!!

Ouch, some aren't going to like the way you said that, but you did, and it sounds about right for what some may expect to hear. Don't take me in the wrong way bc, Tiger nation will support our Tigers through thick and thin, good and bad, but we do have some very good fans that see the sky falling during change....

My exactly comment referenced the previous statement. Not the "BS" headliner. I am all in every day of every year. My sarcastic rant should be taken very lightly. Although the writing IS on the wall unless 5 can live up to his potential. He will have to make great strides to hold off the young gun from west lake Texas.<<<

So if we know exactly what they're going to say, and have established that it's all BS, lies, and means nothing, then why do we bother having media sessions after every practice?

Seems like it's a waste of time on both ends

Well I'm sure that most believe that we're going to do well, even bad coaching could win a lot of games with the talent that's at Clemson right now. I think that the one's that are worrying, they could be suspect of well we're going to do with all the coaching changes we've had, even I can't at this point vision what we're going to look like coming into the fall, or the start of the season.

The one thing that I do feel comfortable with, and that is Dabo Swinney is our HC that I believe fully, he knows what he's doing. My opinion is, the biggest reason that our coaching hires has been within, is mostly bc Dabo's plans for Clemson is to put it on a stronger foundation by hiring Clemson grads that he believes will help strengthen the foundation of his coaching staff, and that is the very reason there is so many really young coaches on his staff. It may take a few years for it all to jell, and I think that the majority of Clemson nation is willing to wait on that if it will mean longer runs at the top for Clemson FB.

Dabo is doing differently than a Saban believing it will mean less head aches of hiring different coordinators every other year like a Saban has to do, and it works for Saban bc of the Bama name brand. And that's what Dabo wants to do with Clemson, make it a college FB name brand, then the coaches after Dabo can do it like Saban does it at Bama with their name brand in college FB, bang, there it is!!!

When you say that, also throw a reminder in that coach Caldwell has coached "TWO" National Championship offensive lines. I'll not say that I didn't believe that it was getting time for coach Caldwell to retire, bc it actually was, but I'll also add to the sentence that was good for Clemson, and that he had some of his best years towards the end of his coaching career.

Coach Caldwell will be long remembered at Clemson as a champion that coached two offensive lines that won two national championships, coach Caldwell also had two offensive lines that was runner up in two national championship games.

When remembering coach Caldwell as Clemson's offensive line coach that coached in 4 national championships games. At some point we will also remember that coach Caldwell's offensive line led the way in handing Nick Saban, and his Bama team the worst lost ever in a National Championship game.

I will end this by saying, anybody that chooses to remember coach Caldwell in a bad way, you are dead wrong bc coach Caldwell has been one of the leaders of some of the best Clemson offenses ever!!!!

Caldwell will be known for having a grand total of 4 OL drafted in the last 8 years, none higher than a mid-2nd round pick. I would venture to guess that there are 20-25 CFB teams that can claim more success than that.

We won those championships in spite of our OL, not because of them.

I really believe a new energy is pulsating through this program. Seems to be a sense of urgency. This Defense is going to be awesome. If the offense finds its way they will be a playoff team.

The most interesting comment Coach Austin made was about the OL learning technique and fundamental development. That’s a very intriguing dynamic since Coach BV schemes were so complex these kids had to learn so much responsibility that they couldn’t focus on the former.

Did Coach BV’s brilliant defensive mind actually incapacitate Clemsons OL from a fundamental/development standpoint? This should be interesting as all eyes will be on the OL! Right outta the gate, Coach Austin’s comments bring a different perspective. Success or not, Coach Austin shouldn’t be compared to Coach Caldwell and Vice versa because these two men have coached/will coach against two entirely different defensive mindsets. This is gonna be fun to watch the entire offense develop around.

Defense doesn't blitz in the Spring game. Our OL has sucked because our OL has sucked

They did not suck they knew their job. Our 3-4 stars often played against better athletes(Bama)& held up enough to win 2 national championships. It wasn’t in spite of them. We’d never have arrived at the mountaintop with an avg acc ol.

Teams make it to the CFP all the time without a great OL. Look at Oregon in the Chip Kelly days.

Go back and watch the CFP in 2018. It was not our OL playing well and running all over our opponents or TL having all day to stand in the pocket. It was TL throwing on the run and WR's making 1-handed catches (along with busted coverages).
