My biggest question, why don't we have a Championship

Oct 20, 2021, 7:25 PM

Roster NOW? Has our recruiting dropped off that much? Statistically it's gotten better, certainly according to the recruiting rankings

Stellato isn’t playing “because they don’t want him to play.” I know that’s not directly what they mean, but I laughed out loud at that. Hilarious.

Go Tigers!

Hello Tigermat,

Yeah ... agree with you. Dabo didn't have the PC narrative down when he got to Stellato, and whiffed with his 'Stellato isn't playing because we don't want him to play' statement.

Once you say it, it can't be put back in the bottle.

Still Dabo said a lot of good things about Stellato (which most reasonable people believe because Stellato was no slouch as a high school WR, and he was highly recruited).

I'll go out on a limb and predict that Stellato doesn't play on Saturday. We'll see.

You know what would help Stellato get better? Actual reps in a game. What's the saying, there's no greater teacher than experience? Stellato is someone that could help this offense. Will Brown and the Swinney brothers can't help us win games. But they take away valuable reps from Stellato in practice and in games, further delaying development. I can't imagine how Stellato feels watching Will Brown and the Swinney brothers get more playing time than him.

We were ok throwing Tate in as well as Shipley and Will Taylor. It's a head scratcher. If it's a medical issue, then just say he's unavailable like spec.

The days of redshirt are over. Best to plan on 3 years with a player now. Max you'll get is 4 years now. Players graduate in less than 4 yrs now etc. Jmho.

Bingo, based on conversations with former CU players that played with coaches kids it creates an uncomfortable situation. My discussions where years back but I can't see how it's much different now. Everyone in the room (except maybe the players ahead of him) can see the obvious. They have gotten mop up reps in the past but there is no pathway to them ever being FBS caliber players. Meanwhile, Stellato will wait or head to the portal instead of getting those development reps that the staff preaches about. The legacy system and super seniors are biting us squarely in the butt. One of the worst offenses in the entire FBS while playing in one of weakest conferences imaginable. Hope the boat gets turned at year end.

Who is "they", that don't want Shipley to Play? Team doctors? Assistant coaches?

Stellato not Shipley. Shipley is game time decision.

Everyone relies on spellcheck and nothing more. It’s everywhere. Apparently editor is the cake job to have now.

No. At least spell check wouldn't autocorrect that one, though.

The NCAA needs to step up and do something with the portal. A player does not want to face team discipline so he decides to transfer. Did I read that right? I would like for said player to refund IPTAY for the scholarship and benefits used so far for the season. This madness needs to stop.

NCAA and NIL

Oct 21, 2021, 1:08 PM

I think both of them are causing more harm than good, did the NCAA come against practices with players and coaches during the off season again, we do not have the Oklahoma Drill at practices anymore and ever since that I can tell our lines have gotten kind of soft and not as aggressive and getting the push they need. Did the NCAA come against practices, number of practices or time length? The NIL has made college football more like the NFL which is one reason the NFL does not have the fan support college football does. The real head scratcher is with the coaches we have and the high caliber players we have and get in recruiting a team like BC, Cuse, and Pitt should have no chance of beating us or coming close. I think the team needs to have some ownership meetings coaches and players and demand the motto they preach Best is the Standard.
