What did you think was going to happen? Who exactly would we have gotten? Leary? The kid from Coastal? If CK is our guy, he's the starter, who is going to want to come here? CK has 3 years. Is someone with thoughts of being a starter going to transfer here? What does it say to CK, or anyone else, if Dabo brings in someone and makes them starter? CK would be on the may train to the portal. CKs a freshman, hasn't been in training as starter. He needs time to develop. You can't split time for him with someone else....you either commit, or you don't and then you lose everything.

And what message would that send to Vizz. He also probably would hit the portal. Dabo or Streeter can't (physically and legally) camp out with our QB's room. This guy, as did hj last year can hang out and teach our young guns a lot. Breaking down film, techniques etc. Good character fit and they'll bond instantly imo. It's like they have a 24/7 coach that can legally hang with them. Brilliant move imho.

Plus, If Cade turns out to be the QB that most of us think he will be, Tyson should get a lot of 4th Qtr mop up duty, and how could he expect any more after transferring from two schools already with his eligibility almost up. He couldn't have chosen a better place than Clemson to finish out his college career IMO....

Agree, in fact a great pick up for the Tigers! Paul Tyson looks like a great young man and QB. Welcome.
We have been lucky with the lack of serious QB injuries recently. No significant season ending injuries.
DW4 tore an ACL and played a good USC game, before surgery, and Cole Stoudt bailed us out in the Bowl game against OU.
Trevor and Kelly also got knocked out of games, or missed games. We really need 4 QB’s
Dabo is a smart coach, and he knows we are a few plays away from starting a 4th string QB.
I am actually surprised Paul Tyson choose Clemson with 2 years of eligibility remaining.
Between Cade and the other QB’s, Clemson is a very competitive situation.

Dear gal,
Vizz or any other young QB would not feel the least bit threatened by us bringing aboard what is an obvious backup QB.
If Vizz can’t beat out a back-up transfer QB for the #1 or #2 role by the start of the 2025 season, then Vizz isn’t what we currently think he is.

Freshman that will redshirt this year. He hit one of the prettier punts I saw this year. Boomed a 47 yarder in acc championship game. He was rated #5 punter in the country by the kicking ranked services. Plays a pretty mean TE too.

Considering our roster is full and QB was a legitimate position of need on the depth front for next season, who should Dabo have cut from their scholarship, or which incoming freshman should he have pulled a scholarship offer from to make room? It would be great for one of you Quackers out there to point out who we should run off from the program here. I know it can be frustrating that we have such great retention, that most kids are willing to go the distance with the program and the development and such, and how rising stars aren't out there shopping NIL deals and jumping ship. If only Dabo was less a man of his word, just think how great our portal hauls could be.

Sometimes people just respond to what others maybe saying without actually knowing exactly what they're commenting about. If that is the case, or if you haven't actually seen any film on the Bear's great grandson, below will give you an idea of what he is capable of doing behind center after he gets the ball in his hands. IMO, I've seen worse behind center at Clemson in my 60 years of being a Clemson fan.

We would have been super excited to get a QB of this caliber. He throws a very accurate ball, he runs through his progression very well, but he isn't going to be escape artist when flushed out of the pocket. He also has a slow wind-up, very much like Tim Tebow used to throw.
That said, he will be a good game manager, he will be similar to DJ in the pocket as far as mobility, can run forward for few yards as he is big guy, just not DJ big. He will read defense better, run through progressions and not stare down receivers and will be more accurate of a passer. He will need time in the pocket as more of a pro-style QB.
Everything about him coming here is an absolute positive. More of veteran guy, can run the offense if Cade gets dinged up, can help train the young guys, and he has 2yrs. So he can get a Master's for free, help Clemson in many ways, and if we csn actually run up scores like we used to, then he will get plenty of playing time.

And we should pray that Dabo stays healthy, and at Clemson for a long long time into the Clemson FB future. Dabo has been responsible for adding some of the most sought-after trophies in all of college FB, as in two National Championship trophies, along with two runner up national championship trophies, with also adding along the way since he became the HC for our Clemson FB program, 7 ACC championships.
I may not agree with everything that Dabo does, but I don't have to bc, whether I agree or not, I have absolutely No say so over what he does, he is the one that gets 11 mil a year to lead our FB program, and I'm a 100% sure that 99.9% of our fan base is happy with Dabo as our HFBC, Period!!!

Bear Bryant did more for Clemson than most of today's fan know and things some of us can barely remember. His coaching contributed greatly to all three of our National Championships.

If you can say he made a difference behind center at Clemson, he can be the same at Oregon St. I mean how many top 10 finishes has Oregon State had in the past decade. And whatever a college FB team does, their success or failures shouldn't ever be labeled for more than their past decade meaning, 2000-2010, 2010-2020, 2020-2030 and so on....

You are 100% correct, DJ was a 5 star recruit coming out of HS, but I do believe that the majority of sports media, and they don't really count IMPO, but the majority of college FB fans would agree that DJ was a 5 star bust as a top 10 college QB...
DJ bust or not, he is a Clemson Tiger, and he will always be a Clemson Tiger, he just wasn't one of our best Clemson Tiger QBs!!!!

I agree, our own should never on a regular basis idolize Bama as the God of college FB bc we have knocked them off the top of the hill, UGA, OSU, and LSU have also knocked them off the top of the hill in the past 1.2 decades. I will give them their due credit of finding their way back to the hilltop but, with the way college FB has turned, I don't see any team getting to the top and staying there several years as has been done in the past!!!!
