Swinney says control of the ACC Atlantic is at stake this weekend

Louisville is coming off a 62-59 win at Wake Forest, the second-straight conference win for the Cardinals, and Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney said Louisville is playing with a lot of confidence. Full Story »

I don't see this being close, especially with Dabo making sure everyone is focused on the job at hand. Louisville's win last week is a wake up call that these guys can be competitive, but their defense is a sieve and our defense is much stouter than the competition they have faced so far.

We will crush them.

I love the way you think. I, too, think we whip them handily, but the scary thing is, I thought the same thing about UNC. That said, I see us having another impressive day on Saturday.

Sorry, coach. I love ya, but I'm not buying into the talk of Louisville being equal.

I watched it live. Not sure of how much was the defenses and how much was the offensives scheme or talent. But Wake looked like it couldn't stop the run (which opened up several downfield passes for Louisville) and Louisville looked like it couldn't stop the pass. Basically both offenses moved the ball at will on both defenses and the difference in the game was Louisville's big plays on special teams (coupled with the fact that Wake had a slow start and couldn't catch up).

Louisville will try very hard to run the ball on Clemson. Especially if we see a 3-3-5 look from Clemson's D. If they have success this could get interesting because it could open up some passing lanes somewhat. I do not see Louisville being able to pass on us as well as they did on Wake even if they have success with the run early. Our secondary should be able to stop them. I do see Clemson's receivers and Trevor possibly having a really good day, especially if they load up on the run. Clemson should win this one, but it will be closer than the spread due to being away and Louisville's offense. Louisville will probably have a lot of "empty yards" on offense though. Just my take from watching a couple of Louisville games....

Yep, Dabo is correct again, we will play an Atlantic division opponent from this coming Saturday every week up to 11/16. We will then take another two week break and play for the state championship on 11/30 at the Coop in Cootlumbia South Carolina, and from there, it will depend on how we play from 10/19 through 11/30!!! Championship play will begin on 11/2 through 11/30... We just need to keep it between the lines pounding bodies in the ground clearing the way for RBs and WRs... Hammer down, and see what happens after we leave the Coop on 11/30, Go Tigers!!!

When did Wofford join the Atlantic Division?

as well as Clemson in the Atlantic. Win the remaining conference games and you play for the ACC championship.
