Swinney not ready to discuss QBs, but says Lawrence had his best game

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney isn’t ready to name a starter for next Saturday’s noon home game against Syracuse but did say that freshman quarterback Trevor Lawrence had his best game as a Tiger in Saturday’s 49-21 win at Georgia Tech.

Dabo may not want to tip our hand to Syracuse this early in the week - keep 'em guessing as they prepare this week. Having said that, up till now Dabo hasn't been shy about saying KB is our starter - makes me think a change is coming.

We are getting an "or" in the depth chart tomorrow

TL starts gets two series, then KB comes in and gets two series

I have never known a better coach at Clemson then Dabo Swinney. Nor have I ever known a more stubborn coach then Dabo Sweeney. I for one, will not be surprised if Kelly Bryant starts this Saturday.
He was the same way with all the quarterbacks when there was a senior versus someone else. You can go back and look at all all of the games sense he has been the head coach.

Can you name all the "senior vs someone else"

situations that you're referring to? The only one I remember is Stoudt vs Watson. Thats been discussed ad nauseum for 4 years, and it was the correct call to let Watson work his way into the starting role. What elae you got?

Either way, Cuse has to game plan for both.

Was KB really game ready? Regardless, the swag is gone. Stay with the hot hand.

Absolutely in all things Dabo said. TL will take us all the way this year with help from KB.

The question in my mind is does it really matter who starts the game? We know that (1) they are both going to play and (2) the coaches are going to stick with one or the other depending on who playing the best that day. So far KB has had 1 game and TL has had 1 game. I really don't see where it makes a difference who plays first. I am just glad we have two (maybe even 3) QB's that can lead the team and win. Why not just let the senior go first followed by TL and then once the coaches see who has the hot hand let that QB get the majority of the snaps?

The problem I have with this is if KB struggles (as he was vs. GT) and the other team jumps on us by two scores, it puts more pressure on TL. Basically more pressure on the entire offense. Granted our defense is very good so that helps, but it can easily happen vs. Cuse.

That is true and I don't disagree at all with that. That same scenario could also happen to TL
