Good article on addressing reality.

Hope Klubnik is as advertised or we’re in for another let-down year. I noticed even in the Pitt/MSU bowl game last night Pitt’s 3rd string QB from Greenville with little experience was highly serviceable and able to make good throws decent decisions, get to 2nd and 3rd reads, and extend plays when they broke down. Did what you could reasonably ask of your 3rd string QB. We used to be stacked with reliable deep talent at QB, much less at starter. Hopefully our recruiting hits jackpot this time with Klubnik.

One point of correction from the article. I believe it was an IowaSt lineman that batted the ball towards Goodrich for the pick 6.

I was wrong. It was Purdy. I thought the pass got deflected to far up field to be anyone other than the lineman. Rough night for him. His two mistakes sealed the win for the Tigers.

A professional, fair, and realistic summary of 2021. It addressed the elephants in the room without personal attacks on young men working their butts off for Clemson.

What’s so sad is watching this defense all season and knowing if we had a mediocre QB not only are we in the CFP but have a real chance of winning it? This offense was terrible. The defense had a tough day against nc state but the offense went three and out in 9 of 12 possessions? No wonder they couldn’t get off the field they were exhausted. Just look at all the game the defense won for us? With an anemic QB? It’s amazing. Next year is going to be much much worse. Time to get back to reality. With NIL deals luring kids to schools that have more money to toss around the days of Clemson being a national program are over

Clemson will continue to be a national program as long as their are young men out there with unclouded vision for their own future - the type of men that allow themselves to be mentored. A NIL deal isn't going to factor into getting the type of people-first players that Dabo is after. We've done pretty well the last several years with those type of players and this staff is going to continue the consistent success we have seen the last eleven years. With an incredible QB talent coming in, it is impossible for the QB play to get worse - DJU will show out or get passed. Defense may have a slight drop next year but I expect a much better offense, ACC Championship, and being in the CFP conversation again. Lord knows we don't want another SEC Championship Rematch again next year. Go Tigers!
