Did our offense not score points than Cuse or did the defense win the game? Our defense is good but as the 50th ranked defense in the nation we cannot jump for joy.

Clemson No. 2 nationally in scoring defense

Oct 18, 2021, 9:31 AM

Clemson is No. 2 in scoring defense allowing just 12.5 points per game. Only UGA is better.

At 4.38 yards per play allowed, they rank 7th nationally.

I think Dabo's no is all encompassing. I don't think it matters how you state the question the answer is going to be the same. Just because a guy is injured that doesn't mean he all of sudden doesn't count against the numbers. Every time I hear someone question Dabo on the transfer portal they always seem to bring up injuries as if the injured player just disappears. It's an off year period. To think Clemson was going to continue their run with no hiccup years is asinine. I know fans don't want to hear it but it's true. Clemson isn't Bama and Dabo doesn't want Clemson to be Bama and quite frankly what Dabo has done works. I just wish some fans would get it in their head that sometimes everything is going to line up to where Clemson may have a bad year every 6 or 7 years. If thats the case sign me up for it bc we have more championships in the future. People believe that one or 2 players is going to fix the woes at QB, WR and Offensive line? Let's face it DJU hasn't lived up to the billing and I think you have players trying to do to much, thinking touch and who's confidence is really waning. I don't think the coaches get a pass though. Chad Morris was brought in to get the play makers the ball. The coaches have not done a good job of that. Then again when you run a quick slant or a WR screen the QB has to make an accurate throw and the WR has to actually catch the ball. When you boil it all down this offense has to many play makers too many good players to be this bad, PERIOD..... Someone needs to get their head out their but and fix it.

Injuries are not related to scholarship space, you're right. Nobody was (or at least nobody should have been) suggesting that Clemson should have taken a running back via the transfer portal because of the Dixon transfer or the Shipley injury. The suggestion implied by many was to take an OL because the scholarship slot was available and they could have started immediately regardless of potential injuries to current scholarship OLs.

Re: After last weeks game

Oct 18, 2021, 10:30 AM

after 2 weeks to get ready for one of the worst and undersized team in a weak ACC this is the best to show on offense? Just need to hear the truth that after 6 games ( Half the season ) the offense has gone from a train wreck to a full blown disaster. Just want to hear this is the best there is. When you have a blocking tight end as a QB, an offensive line that every defense can't wait to feast on, only one completed pass to Ngata, other receivers afraid to block the obvious is in front of everyone. To need a trick play punter pass to extend a drive and then have an opponent field goal try go wide the luck will run out. I feel sorry for the defense as the Tiger offense cannot and does not give them any rest. There will be predictions coming at the end of the week for the game with Pitt and from what has been shown so far it wouldn't be a surprise if the score is 38-10 easily for Pitt. I just don't see the offense "All IN". I know there are folks to say don't bad mouth but the standard has been set for a while and the coach speak tells us everything is fine except for injuries. I know sooner or later teams will have a down year but this one is off the cliff. Bottom line is this current offense doesn't scare any defense. The potential may be there but time will tell.

The fact that we would be 1-5 right now without our defense..makes me nauseated.
YES...That is how bad our offense is playing this year...
The question is WHY???

If you don't think it was pure luck that we won that game, then I don't know what else to say. The game should have gone to OT and who knows what would have happened then, but the missed FG was pure luck not good defense.
