TNET: Offensive line building depth, more physical mentality for 2021 season

Offensive line building depth, more physical mentality for 2021 season

Dabo Swinney is realistic. Walker Parks is pissed. Matt Bockhorst is disappointed. Add all of that together and you have the feelings about how the Tigers’ offensive line performed last season. However, all agree that the line should be significantly better in 2021. Full Story »

It’s time to earn the Natty for this season by practicing & imitating more effort than past champions. Dig deep into development & drive hard against our great defense to challenge them daily to get better! Iron against iron mentally, physically & spiritually each & every day Tigers!

Let’s go Tigers!

We keep getting better & better everyday, in every way!

last season is in the rear window. As far as the upcoming season is concerned knock people off the ball, open holes, protect the QB, has a constant mean streak and be nasty every play and what happened in the past will a distant memory. Prove it or park it.

Cutting to the chase ...

Mar 19, 2021, 1:30 PM

It’s not about playing more physical ... and it’s not primarily about building more depth. It’s about talent and lacking it at key line positions. And the most talented o-lineman on the team just left.

News flash — the o-line played poorly most of the season, and Bockhorst was one of the weaker players. His talk means little. Parks was considered too undeveloped to start, although he could’ve helped IMHO given more of an opportunity. Unless Bockhorst has somehow gained talent over the past two months which seems unlikely, the best opportunity for improvement is to bring the young guys along quickly to start by mid season,. And put Bockhorst and other weak performers on the bench. Hopefully McFadden, Mayes, Parks, Leigh, Tchio and whoever can emerge as a leader at Center can pull this ramshackle bunch of talkers & underperformers together in 2021.

Agreed. I do like the attitude and recognition of the issue but bottom line is they have difficulty getting a yard in a goal line situation against the Citadel and the playoff game domination speaks for itself. I watch all the early enrollee lineman closely in the Spring game and usually end up jotting down NR (not ready) next to their name on the program. But hope springs eternal. We have had a few quality Freshman in the past that started and with some higher rated recruits maybe we can find that critical one or two that the coaches will try to get in early.

O line is the key for any team and we can't be as weak as we were last year.

Especially when breakin in a young qb and rb. Need the line to come through.
