Can someone who follows the recruiting sites a little more than I do clear up something for me?
Why is it that recruiting sites hold off on naming guys 5 star players even though they are ranked in the 5 star region of the rankings.
Rivals currently has around 15 and 247 only has 4 or 5 guys listed as 5 star players.
Is there a reason for this?
There are always 30 5 star guys (give or take a few) by the end of a recruiting cycle.
Why wait to give them a 5th star?

Yes that is in their composite rankings.
In the rankings that are set up just by 247, they only have 4.
Seems even more odd now that you pointed out the difference in the composite rankings.

Huh that is weird. I always assumed it had something to do with wanting to get enough film/data points first... as well as building up the prestige of receiving the fifth start. But if they’re willing to do it in the composite, why not do it in their own rankings too?

He’s something. I did not do any pregame reading so I did not realize who it was tearing through out team. It was Shipley left, right, middle, etc. it was shocking because he did not look that big but ran through people. Lee County NC had two D-1 D-lineman and otherwise good defense. Didn’t matter.
