Maybe we should start a Music Production Program at Clemson and offer it as a major or a minor.

Creating majors for recruits is what SEC schools do.

How about a minor then? We definitely don't want to follow the SEC way.

facility. I always thought it was a waste of space cor better things. But we've had players make songs like we too deep. They are always playing some song with video or parody, maybe a music recording room was a good idea? I haven't seen any special pieces delivered but who knows, maybe there was some good merit behind providing a studio. I guarantee Dabo pays attention and if a studio gives us a couple more 4-5* players, we will see an addition in the future. Dabo has been absent recently, maybe he is finalizing record studio plans?

Shocked uga not on the list. Wonder how many of these "early" offers are commitable... I really wish these programs like uga and Bama would have these early offers commit and their feet held to the fire where they'd have to hold that scholly whether the kid turns out to be a dud or not.

Size alone, and the fact that he is playing on both sides of the ball, every offer is a committable offer, and if not, that coach is in the wrong business!!!

Both LSU and Oregon ducks offered him as an 8th grader. Of course they were both trying to get DJ at that time.

I wouldn't be surprised if he stayed close to home.

Well, to an extent you can do this but it's more for mixing and mastering craft that YouTube can help with IMO.

Producing is more of an art form - hearing sounds and implementing them is a different beast. It's more than just discovering what "sounds good" but ultimately a subjective game that go a bunch of different ways and the best way to learn is to find a good mentor for the area you want to work in.

Hate to say it but if music is something he wants to work on he's probably heading to USC or UCLA and I can't blame him at that point.

At this point, I agree he's probably looking at USC or UCLA. However, he's only 15 and has a couple of years left in high school. A lot can change between now and then.

There are plenty of other schools that have Film/Movie schools, ... Miami for sure

I don't know which schools are best for Music ---- but I would check schools near Music hubs. ... Austin, Nashville, ATL , etc

USC - directing
UCLA - writing
Cal St Northridge is great for film producing

In all fairness, movies and music can be done now on laptops. Anyone can have a home production studio pretty easily today. And there are in fact amateurs out there doing some very high quality production on YouTube.

People are in fact getting rich on YouTube and other social media. Including many people that most would look at and laugh at because in the real world these people have no talent or skills whatsoever, but the Kardashians have opened the door for millions of people to endeavor to be so called “influencers”.

That’s why NIL can potentially be so profitable for someone like Trevor Lawrence with a ton of followers on Twitter and Instagram.

Oh absolutely this is the truth! One of the reasons I'm happy to live in the day and age we do is the internet has leveled the field WAY more than in the past. Today we can have a decent home studio for a around 2K and even cheaper if you know what you're doing ??

However, still one of the primary things you still gotta learn how to do is network, especially in music.

As far as likeness goes moving forward for college athletes, that is going to be huge! These kids are going to be making more than most college graduates entering the workforce. I'm mixed about it but ultimately see it as a good thing.

Kids dedicate loads of time to refining their craft and their career can end on one play if they are unfortunate. Hopefully they have someone educating them on money management because Lord knows teenagers and early 20s kids with life changing money would cause almost anyone to lose common sense and be potential targets for nefarious folk.

I guess people can't learn to play guitar from the internet or having a high school band.

The great thing about what he is doing is it's totally democratized now - he has access to the software .... the buttons.....
the rest is just art ......

I can only hope Judge, but I think that DJ's brother is more of the big city type from what he's saying. Just my opinion!!!! But who knows, with all the time that the Uiagalelei family has spent at Clemson, and with the coaching staff, maybe there is something they don't particularly/specifically like about Clemson that they didn't know when DJ signed with Clemson. Or maybe they took advantage of DJ learning from the #1 NFL draft pick in Trevor Lawrence. I'm not saying there is anything that they don't like about Clemson, and they love everything about Clemson, and Clemson was the perfect/right choice for DJ, and I'm sure that it is.

But when it come to brothers, and they love each other more than anything, but maybe little brother don't want to follow in big brother footsteps, and Matayo wants to do his own thing. With DJ and Matayo, I think there is a few years difference in age, and they see about everything quite differently from each other!!!!

Right now in Matayo's recruiting process, I think he is pretty far from being a Clemson lock right now, but hopefully Clemson is in his future, and I would love to see him sporting the Paw at TE. If TE is what Matayo wants to be at the next level, he will have to stay in the weight room lifting, and running just to keep his weight to where it is right now, if he wants to be a TE with enough speed to be a great TE, or he will be a tackle/guard in college, and the NFL. Just my opinion!!!

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Wherever he chooses to go, He will be playing in the Interior

Jan 29, 2021, 3:08 PM

He may play some DE in a 3 Man Front. In 2 years, he will be in the 290-300 lb range. The only 290 lb + TE that I saw play in the NFL was Jason Dunn for the Chiefs. He was a Blocker exclusively because they had Tony Gonzalez at that time.

Well sounds like Big Dave isn’t gonna have a second son coming to Clemson. Of course the kids a Sophomore and could always change his mind but at this time it doesn’t sound like Clemson has what he’s looking for.

It would be great to have both Uiagaleleis, but I'm thankful just having DJ. If Matayo is meant to be a Clemson Tiger, he will be.

Someone asked Big Dave on twatter if he'd gotten an offer from Clemson yet, knowing full well Dabo doesn't offer sophomores. Big Dave's response "We don’t need a offer for matayo because CLEMSON is family"

Look it up
