TNET: Isaiah Simmons: Clemson's version of the coffee bean

Sep 18, 2019, 7:01 AM

Isaiah Simmons: Clemson's version of the coffee bean

A coffee bean is different in its makeup and texture than an egg or a carrot, and Isaiah Simmons wants to be a coffee bean. Simmons is Clemson’s talented linebacker who has blossomed into one of the most dynamic defensive players in the country. (Photo by Susan Lloyd) Full Story »

Who are the other 4 guys on defense wearing number 11? Against, Cuse, I saw all five of them making big plays!

Love the coffee bean analogy. I've heard that before and the way I heard it was how you handle adversity. The hot water is adversity and the egg gets hardened (bitter) by adversity, the carrot get soft (intimidated) by adversity, but the coffee bean changes the adverse environment its in (leadership). I'm glad Isaiah stayed and certainly wouldn't mind if he decided to come back again! Great article.

Simmons might be the very best defensive player in the country.

However, I will admit that I do feel kind of bad for Syracuse having Danny Devito's son playing QB for them.

“Let’s speak things into existence “.

Let that soak in for a minute. Wow!!

I’ve always believed that you get what you expect. As in you make your own luck or so many other sayings like that. Never heard it put quite like Isaiah said it but what a powerful positive attitude. Make it happen!!!!

GO TIGERS!!!!!

Isaiah has been dominant since the middle of last season with his crazy speed and strength which is going to have him as a Top 10 NFL draft pick. the Texas A&M game last year solidified him as one of my all time favorite Tigers. His motor is more like espresso with a diesel turbine though. Go Tigers!

After the first game, I called Simmons to be a top 10 pick

Sep 18, 2019, 8:52 AM

You can take that to the bank. He's an athletic freak, can play any position in the back seven, has a very high football IQ and produces like crazy. Big enough to wrap up running backs and fast enough to keep up with almost any skill guy.

This kid is such a crazy athlete. He reminds me a lot of Dorian O'Daniel except I think he is faster and overall a better athlete. They are both smart football players though.

You can make whatever you want out of it but imo every young football player should really read and study IS. He always keeps it ??!

What a true inspiration. What wise knowledge before his years. Wow- sure wish Tre had listened to him.

Wise beyond his years.

He might get the Maxwell House award for best all around player

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maxwell_Award

I've invested a lot in Maxwell House over the years. I get a
$3 can and make a bunch of coffee. Never been to Starbucks.
Is it about $4/cup there?

I don't know where the staff finds these guys, but it's like they're striking gold with every swing.
