sidelines. We are used to a raving, arm waving, frothing at the mouth LUNATIC who needs a special coach just to corral him from going on the field!
That is all, carry on.

Yeah, have wondered about that (lack of fire or intensity). He was reportedly very knowledgeable, a good guy, and “laid back”. Hopefully, his coaching is intense and our D doesn’t reflect the laid back trait. Not criticizing and wish him the best. Coach V had a “get back guy”, someone asked who his was. I hope he needs one.
Go Tigers !!!

So for not so good no intensity from the defense ...looks like a reflection of their coach

Definitely a lot of room for improvement by the DC and the players. But just a quick reminder that Coach V's Oklahoma defense allowed 509 yards and 41 points at home on Saturday in a loss to Kansas State.

He’s not the DC at Oklahoma. I’m sure that’ll change

Meaning, either the DC will improve or it will change. Can’t see BV tolerating that.

Totally disagree that you have to have a volatile coach to see meanness on the field. You have to have execution to see a defense be successful. Execution has nothing to do with a coach needing a "get back" on the sidelines. Injury and outside issues have affected this defense early. Get the team back healthy and the distractions in the rearview and this defense will be what it is supposed to be. Remember the bottom line folks 4-0 is all that matters. If you don't believe that go back to 2016 with that team thru 4 games and tell me based on the results you would have predicted a 14-1 finish with a victory over Bama in the Natty? This team looks to have a better ceiling than that team thru 4, yet you have the narrative that the defensive struggles and the coaches can't coach because they don't need a get back coach on the sidelines?!?!?! That's just absolutely not logical! Almost as ridiculous as the same people claiming Clemson can't win because of DJU!?!?! ENJOY THE WINNING! Quit worrying about the sideline demeanor and trust the process. Dabo is 154-36 .811 winning percentage. Why in the world are there fans doubting his means and methods?

We need to be better at the corners and safety help against NCSU, and I think we will be. I hope we get some critical players back, but I also trust Goodwin and Reed to make the corrections needed against the 'Pack. Ultimately, it is good for our defense to struggle because I think they will also improve. If we continue to improve every week, we will be playing championship football in December.

Stubbornly playing a bear front with no safeties to cover the top---and getting burned repeatedly..............the game should not have been as close as it was.

Agree. I feel like a Nickel Package would have been the best play with the players we had available. Carter is more than capable of playing Nickel while Greene is recovering, then you have Phillips and Mickens over the top to help the young corners.
