With you on that one LBB. I just want us to figure it out and get back on track to dominant play. I think we got a little wake up call last year. Let's hope we have awakened our sleeping giant and get back to being in all the right conversations and for the right reasons.

Hope he gets us back on track. Did Kyle have a creative offense at Northwestern? I think we lost some creativity on offense when Brad and Jeff Scott left.

Northwestern is less than 5 minutes from my house. He was the head coach there right after my son graduated and he did a great job with his air raid offense as it was called. Moose Wallace was the head coach when my son was there but I can’t recall if Kyle was already there as an assistant at that time.

How about starting a QB who can hit an open receiver or tight end on a simple
slant pattern across the middle? DJU overthrew way too many last year.

I have faith in Kyle. There are many things that can be tweaked or improved but ultimately I'd like to see us use a TE, maybe Jake B, be utilized in the passing game similar to how Atlanta uses Kyle Pitts. They might not be the same player but the concepts can be used in the 15-35yd passing game. If we can start hitting some throws to the TE in that window it will open up the run more along with underneath and over the top routes. I'm waiting on a game where we have a 100yds receiving by a TE...when was the last time a TE at Clemson caught for 100yds? Let's go Stat guys. Go Tigers!!!

The secret to FSU's offense during the dynasty years was exactly that. Mark Richt was a genius. He designed a fairly simple offense. He had great athletes at the skill positions and knew he could "out athlete" the opposition. He developed an offense that used those athletes. He got them into space and then got them the ball.
Lot of different ways to do it. That was really the secret to the OU wishbone. It was the secret to the "air raid" offense. It was the secret to Spurrier's "fun and gun." It was the secret to Clemson's recent success. All the offenses were different. But, all were designed to "out athlete" the defense.

I think we will look back on this Godwink as a Godsend. Richardson brings freshness and excitement to the game. Though the two top TE's were out this spring, TE's were more involved in the Spring game than in the past few years. If we can regain our confidence in the passing game, the offense should be ready to return to its high production that we've grown used to. Put that together with our stout defense and we should be good.
