I thought so as well. So tremendous to see his growth in the midst of our fans turning on him

All DJ5 has to do is to execute on the field and the fans will be with him.
We are better with DJ5 playing well, and Cade learning as the back up.
If DJ5 looks like he did last year, we need to have Cade and Hunter ready to take the field!

Great article and video - agree with everything said. Check the video, though, around 1 min mark and how primary receiver at bottom of screen breaks wide open - would have been TD.

DJ's arm was starting to moving by the time the corner slipped. That wasn't a fault on DJ not spotting it.

The safety was already watching DJ and moving up on his read to the left, bit, and then when DJ progressed to his right. Why, because before the corner fell, they had decent coverage and it would have been a dangerous throw. If DJ did not work through and just watched his only option, then maybe he would have had that BUT they Safety would not have in as bad of a position.

* Correction, maybe he did not slip but crept in in an odd shuffle. Still the coverage was fine at the time of the pass.

And ... the OL was pretty flawless in pass protection too

DJ actually had the time to go through progressions.

The whole OL played well, but it was especially nice to see Blake Miller getting past the occasional hiccups he had against Ga Tech. He looked extremely strong.

Granted, the run game didn’t produce a lot of yardage, but it did not appear that the game plan called for the establishment of the run so much as simply working on getting DJ comfortable and jump starting the passing game.

I honestly believe that we can run the ball if we really want to because I watched us win three straight games to close out last season dominating with the run.

I was a little disappointed that Shipley did not get more carries... guess they were working on specific areas of the game and Ship running the ball is definitely not a weakness... Speaking of folks from northern Virginia... how long has Mike been with ESPN?

If DJ can continue to improve and be accurate the run game will open up. I think most teams we play are selling out to stop the run and make DJ beat them with his arm. If he does it and teams respect him the run game opens up.
