Very impressed with him. I have a family member who knows him at his school. Works very hard in the classroom, as well as on the field. Would make Clemson proud. GO TIGERS!!!

Would the classroom work ethic eliminate him from most SEC programs except Vanderbilt?
Haha, sorry, I couldn't help myself.

You need to go back and look at 247 composite. He is listed as a 5 Star.

A 5 Star ranking means exactly zilch. I figure if a kid

earns a 5 star rating, especially at defensive end, he should be an off the shelf, day one starting, pass rushing and run destroying machine.

Not so, for sure. Our own K.J. Henry was a 5 star, and he is just now, at the end of his tenure here, turning into a serviceable backup. I don't think he would even make a Top Twenty list of the DE's we have had here. Not saying this to knock him personally, by all accounts he is a great kid who works hard. It is simply an indictment of the "Star" rating system. He was in no way ready to play college football when he got here.

You could take Grady Jarrett as an example at the opposite end of the spectrum. Low star rating out of high school, Dabo took him over other coaches objections, and he turned out to be one of the all time best DTs to ever play here, and a pro bowler in the NFL.

And yet, we have people who get on here and whine simply about the fact that our whole roster is not built out of "5 Stars". Real recruiting will always be about the individual, THAT individual, not a rating system of "Stars".
