Elliott raise shows continued investment in football by Clemson

Clemson offensive coordinator Tony Elliott has one of the hottest names in the coaching business, and opportunities to take over his own program have started to roll in. For now, however, head coach Dabo Swinney and athletic director Dan Radakovich wanted to make sure Elliott stays home. Full Story »

I just wonder how many coaches were telling recruits that Tony would be gone after last season. And now he has 2 million incentives to stay right where he is at Clemson. When you love Clemson as much as Tony and his family does, it's hard to leave more money that you need with a nice comfortable life, and risk losing their spot at Clemson that they know is good, and where they would rather be. Being a HC just isn't as important as being somewhere that you love with many friends that you don't want to leave behind!!!!

Spot on AO52. Money ain't everything. Stability, get to go to work with the best boss you'd ever want. Enjoy family friendly atmosphere. Your office is God's little acre... Sounds like a deal to me.

He will leave for ucf. Last two coaches parlay that hc gig into big programs. It will be sad to see him stomp little brother usf Jeff scott whose team will be outmatch.

Yes, Clemson and every other major school have huge investments in football. Any business invests money to make it's product desirable and a university is no different. To any school, football is the cash cow and you do not bite the hand that feeds you.

good for TE, he has put in the work. I sincerely hope he

is ready to prove that he should be in the top 3 coaches salary this upcoming season. He has had some brilliant individual play calls but honestly after watching Sark call the national championship, I am looking for that type of performance week in , week out

Congratulations to Coach Elliott

But I don't get it. Coach Elliott is solid but far from a top 3 coordinator in all of college football, and he was not leaving the program. Coach Elliott has been the OC and RB coach. Did anyone see a run game last year?
