Umm, not to be that guy, but your mafs are not quite adding up. Otherwise great effort by the defense. I would have loved seeing what they did against Van Dyke, but the two freshman QBs never got comfortable and Trotter was a BEAST!

Pesky typos, 30 on the ground and way to go Coach Steele...

and his defense giving up only 54 yards to BC in '09.

The Defense definitely looked good, good pass play also, they did give up a couple long plays. BUT, lets be realistic, the last 2 teams have been much less talented, therefore the defense looked much better!! No doubt Trotter is a beast, we've got some good quick athlete's, they just need to keep putting it all together for a complete game. Jalyn says their playing angry now after the A$$ whippn' by ND, well, you're always supposed to play angry, not wait to get your A$$ whipped and then get mad!! GO TIGERS, show the CHIKINS what defense is all about!!!

The coots will be very embarrassed next week as this defense shuts them down an our offense puts it all together as we begin to PEAK!

I will agree that the coots better forget scoring 60 points in their game next week, bc I don't see a way that could happen. But for the offense finally putting it together in the very last scheduled season game, well putting it all together with Streeter calling the plays for the entire game, I don't see that happening next week, or any weeks after that we get a chance to play. IMO, Streeter has been a disappointment as a play caller, or who ever is calling the plays....

2 questions:

(1) Assuming Spencer Rattler is still “in the zone” in Death Valley next Saturday, is our mostly outstanding defense capable of limiting his damage?

(2) But assuming Rattler is hot and the chickens do score a lot of points, can our offense finally put together a complete game and simply outscore them?

Wait. One more: Has a Clemson football team EVER scored 63 points against ANYBODY, let alone a team ranked No. 5?

" Has a Clemson football team EVER scored 63 points against ANYBODY"

yes, yes we have, I'm sure I've missed a few

81 Wake - 1981

77 Louisville - 2018

73 GT - 2020

63 coots - 2003

ONLY 44 against "The Best Team Ever" - 2018 CFP

I like our chances against the coots, everyone knew tenn doesn't have a D. I'm an a little concerned about rattler.

Man, you need to wake up. 63-17. That score is the GOAT. Bragging rights for a lifetime. 5th largest crowd in Williams Brice history at the time. Gamecocks were a 1-2 point favorite coming in. Just one of the 4 wins that Charlie Whitehurst had against the Chickens. Like the tee shirt in my drawer says:
63-17
Domination, Humiliation
Any Questions?

Thank you my fellow TigerNet correspondents for educating this ignorant Tiguh about how many times we have scored MORE than 63 points. My excuse? Several years ago, I fell off my horse, hit my head on a rock and was in a coma for a good while. Fortunately, my wife didn’t pull the plug (but you KNOW she musta been tempted). I came around in time to see the Georgia game last year, which I still say we coulda won if we’d had just an average quarterback. But I know DJ is a good guy, and that he wants to win just as much as we do. I believe he will lead us to victory over the Cocktails. Go Tiguhs!

I'd say you hit your head alright!

The TIGERS clobbered Wake in 1981. Clemson 82 - Wake 24. And the Tigers laid a whoopin on those game chickens in 2003 scoring....63 points. GO TIGERS!!!

I'm sure there are more, but those two I remember.

Make Rattler watch this game out of the ear holes in his helmet! It needs to be that kind of game.
