KJ

Dec 27, 2021, 6:03 PM

“It's been a good ride. especially coming back for my sixth year. “

I’ve never been accused of being a mathlete but this doesn’t add up to me. KJ was in the HS class of 2018 so it seems like he has only been at Clemson 4 seasons. He redshirted his first season too so I was really hoping he was coming back for a 5th season next year but this says he is playing his sixth year??? Am I missing something?

Re: KJ

I’m sorry, is KJ really leaning going pro after this year? Is this a projection based on measurables versus production?

Maybe he is being illusive so that when he returns in 2022 it will carry more gravitas, but he definitely needs another season to boost that draft stock.

KJ and Murph would be scary bookends next year, while it sounds like KJ has a great head on his shoulders otherwise, skipping next year could be a big mistake.

Love the kids but he’s not getting drafted, maybe a practice squad player for a couple years, with an Artavis Scott or Mitch Hyatt like MFL career. I think he’s just done with football, not going pro.

I agree with you rhettfla ... the article author's attempt to 'read the tea leaves' with respect to KJ inferring that Cheez-It Bowl will be KJ's last game isn't what I get from the article.

KJ ain't dumb ... rather, he's quite bright and got his Clemson Bachelor's degree way ahead of schedule.

KJ's reference to 6th year players isn't about him; he's referencing teammates.

KJ's mention of going to the NFL and yet will still play in the Cheez-It Bowl is (as it appears to me) a reference to guys like A.Booth (who is a sure bet to be gone) and B.Spector (who has a 6th year if he wants it, but will leave after his 5th year).

Also, KJ knows that his stats in 2021 were not spectacular, and that he'll get much more priority playing time (almost a sure thing that he'll start in 2022) if he comes back for next year.

Who knows what KJ will decide? But I just didn't get a 'he's likely gone' inference from his comments as relayed in the article. The quote that you cited in your post says that he's enjoyed his time thus far ... and maybe he meant that he's coming back for 5th year (and mis-spoke when he said 6th year).

Regardless, I'm kinda pumped about the Cheez-It Bowl.

The CDC reduced the quarantine time to 5 days today but I doubt the conference can change the policy quickly. If we don't have any more cases, we will hopefully be in good shape to play.

Stupidest thing ever...stop bowl games because of a "cold"?

Dec 27, 2021, 7:21 PM [ in reply to Re: TNET: Cheez-It Bowl Practice Insider: Big-time visitors show up, some COVID news ]

Natural immunity is here. You can have it, but you have to catch the virus, first.
Take off your stupid mask and stand next to your family, friends and neighbors and relax.

Like you have always done.

It is NO DIFFERENT, now. Natural immunity is being devastated because of your stupid masks and your stupid social distancing. There is NO PANDEMIC! There NEVER WAS! It was ALL A LIE!

Live life and go forth!

THIS IS AN AMAZING WORLD!!!

YOU HAVE IMMUNITY NOW, AND YOU ALWAYS HAVE!

Trust in the Lord.

If natural immunity is here, then why have so many

Dec 27, 2021, 8:04 PM

hundreds of thousands have died for not getting the vaccine, and just living their lives as before.

I hope you are not spreading your message. Go do some research of covid deaths around the world.

Re: Death rate for vaxers vs non-vaxers ... not that simple

Dec 27, 2021, 9:59 PM

civil engr® the death rate for those who took the vax is helped because the authorities prioritize therapeutics for the vax'ers vs. the non-vax'ers.

This essentially making the comparison of the death rate as follows:

Death rate for vax'ers who get therapeutics after getting sick

versus

Death rate for non-vax'ers who were denied therapeutics since they didn't get the vaccine.

Even a little bit of thought will lead to a lot of understanding here.

BTW, there are numerous papers (try Medrxiv) which compare natural immunity vs. vaccine-acquired immunity. Doing a little research (if you are not afraid to challenge the narrative with which you are comfortable) will be a brave, but useful first step.

Stay healthy and have a happy New Year!

Re: Stupidest thing ever...stop bowl games because of a "cold"?

Dec 27, 2021, 10:24 PM [ in reply to Stupidest thing ever...stop bowl games because of a "cold"? ]

Dear hurricaneduane®, a growing number of thoughtful people are becoming (justifiably) reluctant about the COVID vaccines, but the Covid virus strains are real because it was engineered in the Wuhan lab (Wuhan is one of the many large cities in P.R.China; that city has a facility that bioengineers pathogens for military purposes).

Not the place here to attempt to justify either taking the vaccine or not taking the vaccine, but do yourself and your loved ones a favor and do what the vaxxers / maskers / non-vaxxers / non-maskers can do as helpful steps.

Take plenty of vitamins, with emphasis on Vitamin D, Vitamin C, and zinc supplements. These are all known as highly effective materials to build up overall health (and with Vitamin C and zinc being know as being useful against viruses of many varieties ... including cold and flu viruses).

Also, since cold, flu and COVID-19 all have the same primary point of entry (i.e., the nasal membranes), another effective means of reducing viral 'intake' is to use a nasal wash (there are 8 oz. bottle 'packets' which are readily available in the drug store) every time that you get home after being in contact with people. The key is, for each 8 oz. bottle, to put in 2 tablespoons of 3% hydrogen peroxide solution into each 8 oz. of saline water. A good blast in each nostril will reduce the viral count, and greatly reduce the number of viral particles that expose themselves to your nasal membranes.

This isn't too hard to do, and it helps to reduce the risk of not just Covid, but also of cold & flu.

Good luck and Happy New Year ... and Go Tigers!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I agree with the saline, but do NOT put hydrogen peroxide in the saline …

Dec 27, 2021, 11:23 PM

… that will erode the linings of your nose. You don’t want to inhale that into your lungs. (Read the warnings on the bottle of hydrogen peroxide)

The conference does not have to ride from Syracuse and Miami to North Carolina... A conference call can change things in 10 minutes, if the ding dongs would get off their butts and DO something...

No, you’re the idiot. How many cases of influenza during 2020? Did it magically disappear? More people died “with” c19 than from it. Hospitals getting paid to put c19 on death certificates. Does the vax work? Do mask work? Does social distancing work. I have my opinions on all of it. Keep being a sheep.

Dec 28, 2021, 9:57 AM [ in reply to Re: TNET: Cheez-It Bowl Practice Insider: Big-time visitors show up, some COVID news ]

If you look at total weekly deaths in 2020 vs. 2019, you will see that there were about 550k more deaths in 2020. That was about a 20% increase YoY. Population increased by about 0.4%. Interestingly, 2020 deaths tracked 2019 deaths until about week 12 in 2020, when they rose exponentially. What do you think caused all of those extra deaths that started around the end of March with an exponential rise? Please provide data and an explanation based on known science.

Dec 28, 2021, 12:40 AM [ in reply to Re: TNET: Cheez-It Bowl Practice Insider: Big-time visitors show up, some COVID news ]

My grandmother got a head cold and died within 2 days after getting it. She had an aneurism from the side effects of the cold.

Covid is just like all the other things that humans will have to endure in order to live. Treating it like it is special or different is simply a political thing to control people and loosen voting verification.

Stop being a gullible fool!

It’s all fun and games until they get it. Just happened to an anti-vaxxer guy I work with. He almost died. He confided in me that he was wrong.
