Welcome again Billy. I like this kid already. Even sounds like Dabo speak... Finish the season. He's hungry and ready to learn. He and Hunter be duking it out in August. Bring on football.
You just never know when kids like Billy and Hunter get a chance. Dabo's done it before...

This kid looks extremely underrated. Not the craziest arm strength but man he's accurate and can throw from some weird angles. Also not often you see a qb in high-school slide in the pocket and delivery strikes with defenders right on him. Kids highlights are very impressive.

The QB pressure instincts(composure)are lights out on this kid! Even if we get both QB's in this class Mr. Wiles will be pushing for playing time.

I never played football and certainly am not qualified to evaluate talent, but this young man can put the ball on a dime, finding receivers that are well covered, IMO. Remember, Hunter Renfro was a walk on too. I hope he does well and earns a scholarship early in his stay at CU. Glad to have this young man join the ranks. It's obvious he wants to be there. What about some of his receiving corp? They can catch the ball in traffic. Go Tigers.

Trey Lance says hello. 2018 prospect that was recruited by Cornell and Brown but ended up at ND State. 247 profile at that time - 3*, ranked at 81.28 and was the 2005 National ranked player.
Billy has almost the identical classification and national ranking. Same height and weight as Trey. Profile comments: pro style QB with good pocket presence and awareness. Delivery with accuracy.
Trey will most likely be the 3rd or 4th QB taken in the NFL this year.

Simply put, kid looks to me like he can play the position, and we need a QB, for sure. Loved his quick release, and I noticed he checked down his receivers on several occasions on the videos.

Hmmm, same comments were made by BYU when they recruited Zach Wilson. Same as I posted with Trey above. Actually look at either recruit highlights and they're similar... Although, I actually think Billy looks better than both.
Dabo said he got this, I'll take that to the bank every day. Great story.

Thanks for the reply... I think.
Darn shame the kid couldn't enroll early... I'd have loved to have had a full spring with him and then watched him in the spring game. I'm stoked to get him in our home opener and let the kid have major reps against state. Will be quite the battle in August with he and Hunter.
With the exception of the opener and maybe one other game, we won't need an extensive playbook... Or at least I hope we don't. With our D, just let the young fella dump it down, move the chains, we'll be ok.

he gave up a full ride to Harvard to pay full tuition and ride the pine at Clemson? are we SURE he was smart enough to get into Harvard? i hope he's another needle in a haystack like Renfrow was... but, dang.. he must be pretty confident he can shine... good luck!

I love this kids film. Quick release, has the arm strength to throw the ball downfield, mobile, smart (Harvard, geeze), plays high level high school competition, and good size. If you told me had offers from all the big boys after looking at that film I would have no problem believing that. What am I missing?

I'm thinking deep ball... he made some good downfield passes but, most of the deepest ones i saw on his film were no more than the 30-40 range.. but, i was very impressed w/ his mobility and accuracy.. and, at 6-3 he has the height..
i just can't imagine telling my parents "i'm gonna pass up my free ride to HARVARD and go try to find a spot on the QB depth chart as a preferred walk-on... so, put the champagne away and get out the check book"

Look at it this way. If the kid cares enough about football and knows in advance what kind of work it will take to be successful at Clemson, then has the kind of “mojo” that coach Swinney likes from a player. Harvard likely would provide him with quality education but Clemson can offer that and more.
Not so long ago, Harvard had one of our QBs if I remember correctly. I’m sure that one of the Ivy League schools did and I bet one of you fans remember who it was. I don’t!
