This is the best practice team I’ve seen in a long time. Maybe we do something different and practice lousy this week and see if it flips a switch

If you are at the practices then you should know that we are limited by injuries and having no choice but playing inexperienced players.

Pressure? How about some attitude?

I would say we should make skirts a part of our offenses uniforms but that would be an insult to our excellent lady cheerleaders.

We were without 10 (6 on offense) first team players Saturday from the Georgia game Depth Chart so our first task is to get players well this week. Those 10 do not include Ross who got hurt during the game. Hopefully our defense will play well because we cannot get into a shootout with Wake and we most certainly cannot give up points on a return or a turnover.

Re: TNET: After 'bump in the road,' Elliott not going to put any more pressure on offense

So, according to TE, these young men don’t need any more pressure put on them and certain ones need more confidence, which is why they stay in games longer?

My kid’s middle school football team doesn’t get this kind of “coaching”. Is this an elite football program that’s supposed to compete with Bama and Georgia, or Powder Puff football with Mary Kay cosmetics on sale after the game?

And “bump in the road” my ###.

Ohhh so this is your way of telling us that the reason these guys are not DEVELOPED is because you had them playing Patty-Cake all summer while sitting on the field getting in touch with their feelings?????
News flash bud... You need a dose of reality!!!
That big bad world out there does not give a crap about ANYONES feelings and the NFL will eat them up and spit them out!!! Every week there is pressure to perform... You constantly fight for your job!!! Pansies won't make it !!!

Yeah ...I agree with the other posters . Bring on the skirts and the Mary Kay... That is all they will be good for.
Obviously... Best is the Standard is no longer the motto.
Don't go stepping on my feelings and breaking my heart is . Be careful little ones... Don't break a nail!!!

Nov 15, 2021, 3:17 PM [ in reply to Re: TNET: After 'bump in the road,' Elliott not going to put any more pressure on offense ]

As an earlier poster said and may be it was tongue in cheek, but it is true.

It is what it is! In other words this is it. I have been ticked off this season and the reason is all the previous six seasons where we were among the best. That's not this year and we need to (this is tough to say) give the entire program a break and ride this out.

Winning record,
Another state championship,
Bowl game,
Get some recruits in,
Dabo sticks his nose in the portal,

We good!

If they players "got tough" or were made to "wear skirts" or mocked then they would all of sudden become men and play up to their potential like all the experts on this board did back in the day.

Exactly because he’s not doing his job! You’re the head offensive coach but Brandon Streeter suppose to be a quarterback coach has not shown DJ one thing as far as working with his feet & running when they come after him. If Dabo doesn’t wake up up & see what’s going on I hope he’s gone next year. This has been a surprising year with the coaches he continues to praise! Wake up Dabo!!

Oh Yeah TE........can't put any pressure on the Little Darlins. Why, one of them might faint, or pull a hammy! Pressure!! Your job is to produce young men who are capable of being good husbands, fathers and leaders in society after they graduate. You think a disgruntled boss is going to worry about putting pressure on them? Wake up TE, the world is passing you by! You are starting to sound like one of these Prosperity Preachers who tell everyone to join up and nothing bad will ever happen to them. Come on Tony!

5 - 22 on 3rd downs with lowly UConn.. No pressure = more bubble screens, runs up the middle and many 3 and outs. Our D has played great but can’t play 90% of the game.

Re: TNET: After 'bump in the road,' Elliott not going to put any more pressure on offense

Nov 15, 2021, 5:21 PM

I thought everyone on here was smarter than this....

1) Stop assuming "no pressure" is being applied at practice and meeting rooms. I would venture to guess that the practices and meetings rooms are quite active and stressful. Many are taking the stance that they are being babied. I really hope people are not that stupid...

2) Everyone is responding to the answer, as if it exists in a vacuum. Look at the actual question: "Do you feel like you have to keep pace with Wake Forest's offense".

I'm sorry, but that's a terrible approach to doing your job. Terrible. Nobody would ever suggest that be your mindset. When you're spending mental energy focused on what others are doing, you're not focused on what YOU should be doing. Our offense needs to focus on their game plan. What Wake does on Offense is not of our Offense's concern. None. Zero. Zilch. That's for the Defense to worry about.

With all due respect Tiger CC, and I respect your posts, but TE has been stepping in it all season with these interviews. I did read/listen to the interview. He said the offense had a “bump in the road” Saturday, well they’ve had a bump in the road or several bumps every game this year. He claims he will not put any more pressure on the players. That can be interpreted for good or bad. Fans are fans and are tired of the coach speech.
Hopefully, they can get it together and score enough to win this week.

Re: TNET: After 'bump in the road,' Elliott not going to put any more pressure on offense

Nov 15, 2021, 9:04 PM

"With all due respect Tiger CC, and I respect your posts, but TE has been stepping in it all season with these interviews".

So now TE can't do interviews well now... The world is coming to an end!!

"I did read/listen to the interview. He said the offense had a “bump in the road” Saturday, well they’ve had a bump in the road or several bumps every game this year."

So, what's the big deal. Are we really critiquing to this level (a phrase)? What should have he said that would have made those really upset fans feel better? If you're being honest, nothing right? B/c i hear that enough: "I don't want talk. I want action....ugh"!

"He claims he will not put any more pressure on the players. That can be interpreted for good or bad".

I just gave a very fundamental coaching reason why it should be interpreted as "it's none of the Offenses business to be worrying about what Wake does in Offense". Matter of fact, this shouldn't be news to anyone at this point. It's been talked about by the best teams, Ad nauseam, for years now: Focus on your task on hand and don't get distracted". Telling the team "we need to keep pace with Wake's Offense" puts needed, useless pressure on them, and it's not the mindset Dabo has instilled ever.

"Fans are fans and are tired of the coach speech".

Agreed! Fans are fanatics and nothing will be said to make them happy. So they go looking for things to be upset about, like a "phrase" used in a Monday press conference. Maybe if they were really tired of it, they wouldn't listen to the interview...

"Hopefully, they can get it together and score enough to win this week".

Agreed. I hope they and the Defense continues to get better and have a great game vs WF.

No evidence of coaching or player development on the offensive side all year (TE play calling, OL or WR). We’re playing now on offense like we may have expected during the first spring practice. Improving yes, but geez the season’s about over.
