TNET: A postcard that made the trip, a family cheers overseas and more

A postcard that made the trip, a family cheers overseas and more

It’s been two weeks since Clemson defeated Alabama 44-16 in the title game out in Santa Clara, and a busy few weeks it’s been with parades and press conferences and getting back into the basketball swing of things. However, there are still a few stories that need to be told. Full Story »

Interesting comments by Hunter Renfrow. It did not register on me during the game that we ran some plays with 4 WRs as a scheme. I need to watch it again to see what happened as a result. I assume 'Bama defended by replacing a LB with a DB, but I'm curious if we attacked that with the pass or run.... and how. You'd think that with 4 WRs, our intent would be to create confusion in coverage with pass routes, but it could also be an opportunity for the power run game.

Just rewatched most of the 1st Q.... 'Bama wasn't prepared for the 4 WR sets at all. We burned them with confusion on the pass routes and used it on run plays to back a defender out of the box and hit them off-tackle. That was probably what had Saban so dazed. He didn't have an answer that would cover the run AND the pass. I'll watch the rest of the game again later, but it's probably more of the same.

We had an excellent game plan on both offense and defense - with good execution . Well done!

I'm sure during the game you noticed

the two-deep stacked WRs on each side of the field.

your storys always top off my trips. love the story about post card. made me think of dwight clark when I used to take care of a home he had in north myrtle beach,sc. him an mark heniford were room mates at Clemson. mark made the trip first time in years he has been to a play off game. I made a wooden toilet with tank handle an lid on it. painted it to match 49 ers uniforms. I bought a gold dolphin an put it in toilet an sent it to Dwight by mark when they were playing dolphins for super bowl. mark had to hand carry it on the plane an they had a ball with it on plane and AT GAME. Dwight had it in locker room before game an tv zoomed in on it. saying was to beat dolphins than flush them. Go TIGERS Mickey V Greene Sr

Great story...'flush 'em'!

Mark and I had a few classes together, so chatted regularly. As I recall, he gave Notre Dame's All-American tight end absolute fits when the Irish visited in '77. Said he never could get his hands on 'that little defensive end'! LOL!

I’ve lived in Conakry, Guinea in West Africa for 8.5 years now and can attest to the difficulty to be able to watch a Clemson or any football game!!! In my time here I’ve only been able to watch our loss last year in the Sugar Bowl, and this years win in the National Championship! I can usually watch most games in whole a few days after so I can keep abreast of them. I usually track them on ESPN while the game is playing, many of the games not starting until midnight or 1AM! But I wouldn’t trade it for anything and absolutely love Clemson Football more than anything else! The National Championship started at 1AM and I turned off my friends TV at 6:30 just after Sports Centers recap of the game. Long night but no trouble staying awake the way we ran right over them!!! From Africa, Go Tigers!!!

As far as the "crud" sneaking in on you . . . nothing a little brown liquor won't cure . . . steady doses of Vitamin C help too.

Why would we even put an article like this on TigerNet?

Jan 21, 2019, 1:02 PM

This a Clemson site not a site about postcards. All you're doing is validating postcard use.
