Hit me with any questions will help if I can. I live in Scottsdale in a condo that is 3 blocks from where one of the two teams will stay. I haven't heard which, but I have my fingers crossed. This is a fantastic place to visit/live.
Anyway will help if I can , my son is flying out from Knoxville to go to the game with me, and we plan to represent!

I am planning to fly into Vegas and rent a car. Is that a pleasant trip? Looks like the road goes through the desert into Glendale What are your thoughts?

It is an easy trip, but it is not a very "spectacular" drive. Reminds me of brown stretches of highway that are as interest as an extended I20 between Cola and Florence.
Scottsdale is a beautiful spot, Glendale is west of Scottsdale. THe places for great night life are called ..
1] Old Town Scottsdale, great restaurants bars and shopping , with free shuttles all over the place.
2] Tempe , is a real college area of bars restaurants and etc right beside Sun Devil stadium. People flying into PHX will see it is very close to the airport.
3] Downtown PHX , they will have big events going on down town , but for us it is not really the destination point for fun.
All three of these areas are with 15-20 minutes drive from the Glendale stadium.

^^^^^^Exactly the road was built just to shuttle back and forth to Vegas it is one boring drive!

Great Hotel - it is a bit North of both Old Town Scottsdale and PHX , and east of Glendale. Still a great area. The whole area hosts Spring TRaining baseball camps. It is built for tourism

Give me your demographics and I will tell ya what "I" think. THat really depends on what atmosphere you are looking for. There are also three large Casinos within 10 minutes of the airport and 20 minutes from the game site.

My daughter lives in Scottsdale, an apartment on Via de Ventura(sp?), I think. We visited for first time last January to see new grandbaby.

Any info or tips on the parking tailgate situation at UP Stadium would be a big help. I noticed you can buy passes for specific lots ahead of time. Should I do this? If so what lot(s) are best.

Getting a pal of mine to get me some info, I havent tailgated much at UPS. He has a crew that do it at every cardinal home game , he will know what-s up....I will post
