Ticket prices

Jan 2, 2017, 11:39 AM

Anyone remember which day of the week last year Natty prices started to drop?

I'm hoping that once Ohio St. fans and possibly Washington fans have sobered up, they will begin posting tickets to simply get back what they paid. Also, maybe the limited selection and high prices online are due to people not yet having their tickets in-hand to sell?

Just looking for advice on when to pull the trigger.

They might...but I wouldn't expect process to come down significantly. Venue is just a long drive for both fan bases. Last year, the pool of potential buyers was smaller due to expense of flight.

Unless losing teams purchased on the secondary market (likely very few), then they don't have tickets to sell. It's a reservation system.

However, Clemson and Bama's school ticket allotments will hit later this week, and that is the drop you're asking about. Wed. or Thurs. probably.

Because both schools are passionate and within reasonable driving distance or cheap plane ride, I wouldn't expect as drastic a price drop as last year.

Makes sense. I'm just hoping for, "you can find them online starting at $750," to mean something other than one random seat, by itself, in the corner upper deck of Alabama's side. I wouldn't mind paying $750 if I could get a few together in a more decent section of the upper deck. Hopefully there will be more availability on Wednesday/Thursday.

Be patient. Be patient. Just give it a few days. Tickets can't be listed on stubhub without seat assignments so give the booster tix a few days and we should see some decrease. Don't listen to those saying the prices won't drop. They will. It's simple supply and demand.

If my dad was still alive and knew I'd pay a thousand bucks for game tickets he have me 'examined'! lol

If my guys come through as I know they will it will be worth the price to be a part of it. With that said.... tics should be priced where every fan can afford to go who wishes to support his team.

In addition to the school allotment that should hit in a couple days, TeamTix will also hit. Last year those were in-hand 3-4 business days after the game, so I'd expect similar timing to the school allotment tickets.

Good point. So probably would be wise to hold out until at least Wednesday.

I wouldn't bank on prices dropping very much if any...

Jan 2, 2017, 11:53 AM

largely because Tampa is within a reasonable driving distances for both teams.

Obviously that wasn't the case last year.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

I'm not expecting a huge drop. Just a situation where $750 at least gets you something better than what is currently available.

Judging by the number of folks I've talked to that don't have tickets and are planning to go to the game, I wouldn't count on the ticket price to fall. The reason it fell last year was because the airlines filled up and you couldn't find flights.
