Covid-19 vaccine shots

Feb 11, 2021, 2:49 PM

On Tuesday there seemed to be a disruption of delivery of Covid-19 vaccines to sites in this state for people with appointments. The same day, there was a open vaccine inoculation site done by the Fetter Medical in little Alvin SC that ran from 9AM until 2 PM. It was highly organized and did not seem to take too long. I pulled in at approx. 1130 and pulled out at 1235. In that time I filled out paperwork while waiting to park, went inside just after Noon and left, as I said, at 1235. By that time there was even a line of cars waiting to park. I called my mother-in-law and let her know of this situation. Then I stopped at a couple of houses in Macedonia and let the folks there know of the situation. They all got their first shot of the vaccine with a half hour of arrival. After all the bad news about the vaccine distribution, I thought you folks would like to know that someone is doing it correctly.

This whole distribution thing is a joke - am trying as......

hard as I can here in Atlanta to get a vaccine appointment but keep getting frozen out of websites - have tried several counties when they say it's time to sign up - the same for Publix and Kroger and now Walgreens and CVS.

I'm tempted to just say the helll with it but that would be stupid - am 65 and need to get vaccinated. Will just have to keep being careful.

Best of luck. This was indeed a fortunate occurrence for a great many of us in rural Berkeley County.

I've suffered many of the same frustrations as you. I have been denied access to the vaccine websites at public health facilities in Cobb and Douglas counties. Someone told me to drive to the Paulding County Public Health facility and give them my name, age and phone number. I did that on Monday and they indicated they would call me. Yesterday, they called about 1:20 in the afternoon and indicated they had several appointments available. I selected one at 2:00 yesterday and got my Moderna vaccine.

You guys in Atlanta may want to look in Anderson and Greenville. Go to Prisma or Anmed on MyChart and sign up.

Atrium/Charlotte Motor Speedway

Feb 11, 2021, 6:08 PM

Atrium Health is teaming with Honeywell and Tepper Sports (Carolina Panthers) and had a weekend clinic 3 weeks ago at CMS and 2 weeks ago at Panther stadium. They did 17,000 at CMS and 22,000 at Panthers Stadium. I drove about three hours from Raleigh to CMS and got mine, with my 2nd dose this morning at CMS also. My brother drove up from Spartanburg and my wife took her 92 yo mother down from Salisbury NC (my wife is only 64, I’m 66 so I qualified).

It was incredibly well run, efficient and a breath of fresh air. Even got to ride around the track (can’t believe how steep the banks are). I think they are planning more so you might want to check out Atrium’s web site. It’s worth the trip if you don’t mind the drive to Charlotte.

Got my antibodies the natural way. So far after day 4 I have an annoying cough but nothing a few scotch drinks and about 6 beers can’t fix each night. Have continuing working through the whole stupid quarantine so far... hope my antibodies last!

Thanks Judge! We have had our arguments but always like your points on basketball as well as all Clemson sports. So far just a cough... I hope I stay lucky.
