The photo of the cadets on the field was taken at the Southeast corner of the stadium. The married veterans housing in the background are located where the present Littlejohn stands. The hill at the far end of the North stands is the present location of the IPTAY offices. My children and many others used to slide down that hill on a large piece of cardboard during the game. They would watch the clock and about two minutes before the end of the game, they would cease this activity and prepare to run on the field when the whistle blew. It was a ritual. They would run to their favorite player and ask for his sweaty chin strap.
